GAME RECAP

The reeling Dallas Mavericks were held to their lowest total in franchise history, dropping their ninth straight game, 83-62 to the Milwaukee Bucks.

Coming off a home loss to the previously winless Golden State Warriors, the Mavericks reached a new low. The previous club record was 65 against Utah on March 5th, 1997.

Terrell Brandon scored 18 points, Ray Allen added 17 and Glenn Robinson 16 for the Bucks, who also set a franchise record for fewest points allowed and improved to 3-3 on the road.

Milwaukee's previous best defensive effort came on October 21st, 1972, when it held the Buffalo Braves to 63 points. The Bucks have beaten the Mavericks four straight times and 11 of the last 14.

Michael Finley scored 12 points and Shawn Bradley 11 for Dallas, which lost third-leading scorer Dennis Scott to a bruised left shoulder in the third quarter.

A basket by Finley pulled Dallas within 12-10 with 5:25 to go in the first period before Milwaukee went on a 12-3 burst to close the quarter.

Allen had a pair of driving layups before Scott's three-pointer made it 16-13 with 2:39 left. Allen dunked, Brandon had a steal and fed Robinson for a jumper, Ervin Johnson dunked and Allen scoring again on a driving layup just before the buzzer for a 24-13 bulge.

Brandon scored nine points in the second quarter as the Bucks built the lead to 46-29 at halftime. In the third quarter, Allen scored seven points and Dallas shot just 31 percent (5-of-16), falling behind 63-47.

A three-pointer by Erick Strickland pulled the Mavs within 69-54 with 7:29 remaining. But Dallas went scoreless for nearly 5 1/2 minutes and Armon Gilliam scored eight of his 12 points in the period, helping Milwaukee run away with the win.

Tyrone Hill grabbed 12 rebounds and Johnson 11 for the Bucks, who shot 45 percent (38-of-85) and held a 56-40 advantage on the boards. Milwaukee, which leads the league in three-point field goal percentage, attempted no three-pointers.

Bradley grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked six shots for Dallas, which shot 32 percent (24-of-76) and committed 18 turnovers. The 7-6 Bradley was 5-of-19 from the field.
