GAME RECAP

Glenn Robinson scored 25 points and hit all eight of his shots in the second half and Armon Gilliam had 14 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, leading the Milwaukee Bucks to a 101-82 rout of the Vancouver Grizzlies.

The Bucks, who scored more than 100 points for the first time in six games, also got 14 points apiece from Ray Allen and Terrell Brandon. Ervin Johnson chipped in with 12 boards and four blocks and Brandon had nine assists.

"The players had our last game in Vancouver on their minds tonight," said Milwaukee coach Chris Ford, referring to the Bucks' 109-94 road loss to the Grizzlies on November 15th. "It makes a big difference playing 48 minutes of solid basketball. We didn't do that last time against them. We wanted to go on our road trip on a good note. Now we can enjoy our Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow."

Shareef Abdur-Rahim led Vancouver with 19 points, but the Grizzlies lost for the sixth time in seven road games this season. Bryant Reeves contributed 13 points and nine rebounds for Vancouver.

"We were really standing around defensively in the third quarter. We gave up a total of 33 points in the third quarter alone, compared to 38 points in the entire first half," said Vancouver coach Brian Hill. "We have tremendous room for improvement defensively. I'd like a day of preparation before our next game, but unfortunately, the schedule doesn't allow it."

Milwaukee opened a 38-37 lead at halftime, but Vancouver stayed close early in the third quarter and tied the game at 45-45 with 9:24 remaining after Abdur-Rahim hit an 11-footer.

The Bucks responded with a 17-4 run that opened a 62-49 advantage with 3:57 to go in the third. Tyrone Hill started the spurt by hitting a pair of free throws and Brandon finished it off by hitting an 11-footer. Brandon had 12 of his 14 points in the third quarter as the Bucks, led by Robinson's hot hand, sank 25-of-36 attempts from the field in the second half.

"Big Dog (Robinson) makes tough shots in your face and he has the ability to kill you," said Abdur-Rahim. "If teams shut us down physically, we fall apart. That happened tonight and they took advantage of us."

The closest that Vancouver pulled afterward was within 10 points, 64-54, with 3:04 left in the third quarter on a three-point play by Abdur-Rahim.
