GAME RECAP

Shawn Kemp scored 11 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter and Wesley Person nailed a pair of three-pointers in a pivotal fourth-quarter run, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to their fifth straight victory, 103-97 over the Boston Celtics.

The Cavaliers trailed 85-80 with 8:50 to play, but consecutive three-pointers by Person gave Cleveland the lead for good with 5:07 remaining.

"I just go out and shoot the ball," Person said. "I look at it just like another shot. You just get three points instead of two. Not a lot of guys in this league can consistently shoot the ball from that distance, so it's like a weapon. I'm blessed to have that weapon and I just try to make use of it."

"That was a hard, hard victory for the guys," Cleveland coach Mike Fratello said. "We had some big plays down the stretch. But none bigger than the back-to-back three's by Wesley to get us right back in the game when it seemed like it was slipping away."

Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 16 points and rookie Cedric Henderson contributed 15 for the Cavaliers, who have won five straight gams for the first time since December 1996.

Antoine Walker scored 24 points to lead Boston, which dropped its third straight game.

"This was just another dagger in our heart with the three-point shot," Boston coach Rick Pitino said, referring to Person's three's. "It's the third time this year that we've had momentum, and guys make three's against us."

Ilgauskas scored 14 points in the first three quarters as the Cavs held a 72-69 advantage heading into the final period. Kemp's dunk with 10:29 to play gave Cleveland a 76-75 lead before the Celtics scored the next five points.

Rookie Ron Mercer sank a pair of free throws and Walter McCarty nailed a three-pointer to give the Celtics a 80-76 lead with 9:28 to go.

Henderson's layup and a short jumper by Kemp tied it at 80-80. But the Celtics regained their five-point advantage. McCarty hit another three-pointer and Tyus Edney made a driving layup for a 85-80 lead.

Kemp finished 6-for-9 from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds. The Cavaliers shot a healthy 59 percent (31-for-53) from the field and also made 36-of-44 free throws.

Walker hit only 9-of-29 shots from the field for the Celtics, who shot 44 percent (35-for-80). He was held to only four points in the fourth quarter.

The Cavaliers held a 50-48 halftime advantage, but the Celtics started the third quarter on a 10-3 spurt, capped by Mercer's dunk with 7:40 to go, for a 58-53 lead. Ilgauskas scored six points in a 12-0 burst, which put the Cavs ahead, 65-58.

Cleveland played without rookie point guard Brevin Knight, who missed his second straight game with a bruised right shoulder.
