GAME RECAP

Antonio McDyess scored 19 points and the Phoenix Suns led from start to finish in a 110-91 victory that extended the Toronto Raptors' franchise-record losing streak to 15 games.

Cliff Robinson added 17 points for the Suns, who opened the game with a 12-3 run and led by as many as 22 points. Rex Chapman contributed 16 points for Phoenix.

John Wallace led the lowly Raptors with 20 points, while Damon Stoudamire had 16.

The Raptors fell to 0-10 away from home and, along with the Denver Nuggets (0-9), are the only teams without a road win.

Rex Chapman connected on four three-pointers in the first quarter for Phoenix, which built a 32-21 lead. He finished with 16 points.

The Suns extended the lead to 40-23 with 7:34 remaining before halftime on a layup by Cedric Ceballos. But Toronto made it interesting before intermission, going on a 20-10 burst to close within 50-43.

"I think it took us a while to get out of playing to their level," Robinson said. "They're a young team and struggling right now."

Stoudamire's jumper with 10:02 left in third quarter brought the Raptors within 50-49, but the Suns responded with an 11-3 spurt, capped by George McCloud's three pointer for a 61-52 cushion at the 7:13 mark.

McCloud connected on 6-of-9 shots for the Suns, who shot 55 percent (41-of-74) from the floor. The Raptors shot 49 percent (38-for-77) while committing 26 turnovers.

"Tonight, the bottom line was turnovers," Toronto coach Darrell Walker said. "It was just stupid, unforced turnovers. Usually we have 14 or 15, tonight we had 26."

McDyess' three-point play with 4:57 left in the third gave the Suns a 66-56 lead, but Shawn Respert nailed consecutive three-pointers to narrow the deficit to 66-62.

The Suns led 78-70 after three quarters and had an 11-point adavantage with 7:15 to play before going on a 15-4 run to take their biggest lead, 106-84.

Jason Kidd dished out 14 of Phoenix's 35 assists. The Raptors finished with only 14 as a team.

"We played really sloppy tonight," Phoenix coach Danny Ainge said. "When we came on we had some really good stretches. They play an unconventional style of basketball. The team is obviously decimated with injuries and we should beat them on our homecourt."
