GAME RECAP

Mark Price scored 12 of his 18 points in the first half as the injury-riddled Orlando Magic built a 16-point halftime lead and cruised to their fourth straight win, 100-90 over the slumping Dallas Mavericks.

The Magic, who have won six of their last seven games, are without starters Penny Hardaway and Nick Anderson. Hardaway is out eight to 10 weeks after undergoing knee surgery Wednesday, while Anderson is sidelined with a broken left hand. Orlando improved to 9-1 this season without Hardaway in the lineup.

Price's 12 first-quarter points helped the Magic race to a 33-20 lead. Horace Grant scored 12 points in the first half for Orlando, which led at halftime, 65-49. Grant finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

Price made 6-of-10 shots, including 3-of-5 three-pointers for the Magic, who shot 48 percent (40-for-83) from the floor. Bo Outlaw added 10 rebounds for Orlando, which held a 47-36 rebounding advantage.

Former Maverick Derek Harper chipped in with 16 points for the Magic, who snapped a three-game losing streak against Dallas.

Michael Finley led the Mavericks with 20 points. Dennis Scott added 13 in his first appearance against his former team, but Dallas lost for the fifth time in six games and fell to 1-3 under new coach Don Nelson.

Finley connected on 6-of-12 for the Mavs, who shot 41 percent (31-for-75) from the field. He also hit all eight of his free throws as Dallas was 22-of-23 from the free throw line.

The Magic led 80-67 with 3:00 remaining in the third quarter, but Dallas scored 12 of the final 15 points in the period to close within 83-79.

However, the Magic restored their double-digit lead following a 12-5 spurt to start the fourth quarter. Harper's three-pointer, which capped the burst, left Orlando ahead 95-84 with 4:53 to play.

Dallas scored the next six points to cut the deficit to 95-90 with 80 seconds to play, but Harper hit a jumper and Rony Seikaly sank a pair of free throws for a nine-point lead with under a minute to go. The Magic held Dallas to only 11 points in the final quarter.
