GAME RECAP

Jason Kidd recorded his first triple-double of the season with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists and Cedric Ceballos added 22 points as the Phoenix Suns destroyed the Vancouver Grizzlies, 118-100, for their fourth straight win.

Kidd, who collected two triple-doubles for Phoenix last season, registered the 16th of his career exactly one year after he was acquired from the Dallas Mavericks.

"I realized it was the anniversary ... I was traded," said Kidd, who debuted for the Suns in Vancouver last season. "And it was a great gift to be able to win and to play here again one year later.

"My stats at halftime were almost the same as when I broke my collarbone so I was kind of nervous, but you just have to play through it."

Kidd, who came up one rebound shy of his first triple-double of the season in Monday's 91-76 win over the Warriors, totaled six points, nine assists and seven rebounds before sustaining a hairline fracture of his right collarbone in last season's game.

The Suns won their fourth consecutive game over a sub-.500 squad. Ceballos shot 9-of-13 from the field in 22 minutes for Phoenix, which has defeated Dallas, Denver, Golden State and Vancouver -- who have a combined 24-84 record -- by an average of 15.4 points.

The Suns never trailed and took control with a 9-0 run in the third quarter, taking a 78-63 lead on Danny Manning's jumper with 4:41 left. Phoenix took an 89-75 lead into the fourth quarter.

"We gave them opportunities, but we got some steals, some tips and turned them into good buckets for us," said Ceballos. "It worked for us, because we jumped on them early, and it's real difficult playing catch-up basketball."

Manning scored 14 points and Cliff Robinson added 15 on 2-of-10 shooting and 11-of-13 from the free-throw line for the Suns, who hit 29-of-34 foul shots.

Antonio McDyess scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Suns, who opened their largest lead at 109-87 on Hot Rod Williams' basket with 4:10 left. The Suns had six players in double figures and received 46 points from the bench.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim scored 23 points to lead the Grizzlies in scoring for the fifth straight game and 10th in the last 11 contests. George Lynch scored a season-high 19 points and rookie Antonio Daniels totaled 10 points and nine assists for Vancouver, which lost for the first time in four home games despite shooting 52.9 percent (37-of-70) from the field.

"We just didn't have it tonight defensively," said Lynch. "We took the day off yesterday and maybe ate too much turkey celebrating Christmas. We just have to balance it out and be more prepared."

Sam Mack chipped in 14 points for the Grizzlies, who broke the 100-point barrier for just the second time in their last 18 games.

"We were poor in every phase of the game tonight," Vancouver coach Brian Hill said. "That's the only way I can put it. We didn't play with a whole lot of urgency. They either ran by us, drove by us or outrebounded us all night. And those three things killed us."

Vancouver forward Otis Thorpe played for the first time in five games after suffering a strained left patella tendon and recorded 10 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
