GAME RECAP

Bryant Reeves scored 15 of his 38 points in the final three-and-a-half minutes as the Vancouver Grizzlies snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 113-106 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

A layup by Marcus Camby gave Toronto a 98-92 lead with 3:48 remaining before Reeves took over. With 3:33 to go, he sank two free throws. After Oliver Miller's 19-footer restored the Raptors six-point lead, 100-94, Reeves simply dominated.

He responded with two layups, a two-foot hook shot, a short jumper and a three-point play before capping the 15-2 burst with two more free throws to give the Grizzlies a 107-100 lead with 37.7 seconds left.

"I am not sure if it is my best game as a pro, but I was able to be aggressive and take the ball to the hole. Plus, I was able to make my free throws, which was really key and this game was right up there," Reeves said. "This is a big thing for us as a team because we won. Individual things I can be proud of now after the game just because we won."

Reeves set a career-high with 14 free throws made and pulled down a team-high 11 rebounds. Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 19 and seven for the Grizzlies, who snapped a four-game home losing streak.

"If I could have fouled him, it would have been a different story," Miller said. "I could not afford to foul out, so I was playing safety. We're a smat enough team that we have to make decisions on the court. We need to start trapping and stop giving up layups. We have to do it. Country was hitting all the high-percentage shots."

Dee Brown came off the bench to lead the Raptors with 21 and Doug Christie chipped in 17 and eight rebounds. Toronto has dropped nine of its last 11 road games.

"We could have adjusted, but we didn't." Brown said. "We do not win games because there are no adjustments on defense. Country will score on anybody with a couple of dribbles in the paint. You can not blame Oliver Miller for this. We just did not take the ball out of his hands."

Abdur-Rahim scored 13 in the first quarter as the Grizzlies charged out to a 12-point lead, 38-26. A three-point play by George Lynch with 9:05 remaining in the first half gave Vancouver its biggest lead, 50-32.

But Brown helped Toronto start started its comeback. He scored eight points as the Raptors outscored the Grizzlies, 25-13 to pull within six, 63-57 at halftime. Toronto shot 52 percent (23-of-44) from the field in the first half.

Reeves scored the first five points of the second half to help Vancouver restore its double-digit lead, 68-57 with 11:08 to play in the third quarter. But Toronto scored seven straight points, capped by Brown's three-pointer, to pull within four with 8:46 to go.

A layup by Michael Smith pushed Vancouver's lead to 73-66 with 6:28 to play. But after Christie drained a jumper, Brown and Christie hit consecutive three-pointers as the Raptors took a 74-73 lead.
