Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Vlade Divac recorded his sixth career triple-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists as the Sacramento Kings pulled away in the third quarter for a 117-95 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers.

It was Divac's second triple-double in a Kings' uniform, with the first coming last season.

Teammate Chris Webber fell two assists shy of a triple-double, collecting 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who have won six of their last nine.

"The most important thing right now is we want to keep the momentum," Divac said. "Right now, we are playing good basketball and we can't wait for the playoffs."

Philadelphia suffered its 10th straight defeat at Arco Arena and dropped to 1-11 all-time here. The Sixers have dropped three straight overall, concluding their rugged five-game road trip at 2-3.

After beginning the trip with impressive wins over Indiana and Minnesota, Philadelphia suffered losses to Utah and the league-leading Los Angeles Lakers. The Sixers had their lead over Charlotte cut to one-half game in the battle for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

"I think it was a combination of things," Philadelphia coach Larry Brown said. "They shot it well and we didn't defend very well. We couldn't guard their big guys. We didn't do a very good job of keeping people in front of us on the perimeter."

Philadelphia closed within 69-67, but Jason Williams hit three 3-pointers in a 21-4 spurt that enabled the Kings to open a 90-71 late in the third quarter. Williams finished with 18 points, making 5-of-7 3-pointers.

Sacramento shot 57 percent (47-of-83) from the field and hit 10-of-19 3-pointers. The Kings also handed out 31 assists.

"We did a great job in the half-court offense," Divac said. "Jason ran the club very well and we hit a lot of outside shots when they doubled me and Chris Webber on the low post. That's why he had a lot of assists."

Allen Iverson, who has slipped behind Shaquille O'Neal in the scoring race, had 23 points for the Sixers while playing with an injured toe. He matched a career high with 50 in a 119-108 home win over the Kings on February 6.

"Shots just didn't go down," Iverson said. "I just missed some. I had open looks. I couldn't knock them down. It just just one of those nights. Any team is hard to stop when they get rolling."

Iverson was held in check after scoring 10 points in the first quarter.

"The guys guarding Iverson did a great job, especially after that first quarter," Sacramento coach Rick Adelman said. "He got two or three breakaway layups and then we eliminated that."

Tyrone Hill and Theo Ratliff scored 15 points apiece for the Sixers, who shot 49 percent (40-of-82) but made just 1-of-10 3-pointers.

Predrag Stojakovic contributed 17 points for the Kings, who had seven players score in double figures.

Hill's jumper capped a 6-0 run that pulled the Sixers within 69-67 with 5:14 remaining in the third period, but Williams drilled a 3-pointer to ignite a 16-2 spurt. The Kings took a 85-69 lead on Webber's two foul shots with 2:16 left in the quarter.

"I thought defensively we were really active in the third quarter and actually the entire second half," Adelman said. "We got our hands on a lot of balls. It was a great win."

After Philadelphia's Toni Kukoc hit a jumper, Sacramento reeled off five more points to make it 90-71 on Nick Anderson's 3-pointer with 1:10 to go.

Philadelphia got no closer than 16 in the final period and Sacramento built its biggest cushion at 113-88 on Stojakovic's 3-pointer with 2:42 to play.
