Game Story

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Ray Allen scored 32 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to their fifth straight win, 112-91 over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Allen was responsible for seven of the Bucks' 15 field goals in the first quarter, when he scored 17 points and helped open a 27-22 lead.

"I'm in the perfect situation with this team right now," Allen said. "I can have an off night and we can still win because so many other guys can step up and lead this team. I think we've grown a lot over the course of the season already, but we still have things to improve on. We're learning to keep leads and play defense."

Milwaukee went on a 24-5 run that bridged the middle two periods. Cassell's 16-footer from the right sideline with 5:38 left in the second quarter started the surge, which ended early in the third with the Bucks holding a 60-40 lead.

Glenn Robinson scored 15 of his 29 points in the third quarter, connecting on 7-of-8 shots and pushing the lead to 80-51 with 4:47 to play. He added 12 rebounds and Cassell had 20 points and 14 assists for the Central Division leaders, who extended their home winning streak to 10 games.

It's the Bucks' longest stretch without a home loss since an 18-game run to open the 1990-91 season. They are eight games over .500 for the first time since they were 14-6 at the start of that campaign.

"We played a lot of great basketball tonight," Milwaukee coach George Karl said. "I think we've played with maturity and good focus to get to first place. I can handle run-and-gun offense as long as we play transistion defense. We're riding Ray and Glenn right now."

Milwaukee improved to 14-5 when holding opponents under 100 points and 20-2 when they reach the century mark.

The Clippers have lost their last four games, all on the road, by an average of 12 points. Quentin Richardson netted 15 points and Lamar Odom had 14 for Los Angeles, which has lost four straight.

"We just got our (butts) kicked, they just beat us," said Odom, who was 0-of-5 from the field. "That's it. I dont think we're tired. We're too young to be tired."

Reserves Eric Piatkowski and Earl Boykins contributed 13 and 12 points, respectively, for the Clippers, who shot just 42 percent (36-of-85) from the field, surrendered 21 points off 15 turnovers and missed 7-of-20 free throws.

Lindsey Hunter made 5-of-10 shots and had 13 points off the bench for Milwaukee, which shot 55 percent (47-of-85) and totaled 31 assists.

"Life is great when you win," Allen said. "Even a trip to the grocery store is fun in this community when you win."
