Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Jason Kidd scored 36 points and Shawn Marion had 24 and 11 rebounds to lead the Phoenix Suns to a 105-91 romp of the Washington Wizards.
Kidd made 11-of-24 shots, 12-of-12 free throws and added nine assists. The All-Star guard's point total was his best since joining the Suns in December 1996 and two shy of his career high set with Dallas against Houston on April 11, 1995
The Wizards had just baskets in the second quarter and again failed to win in Phoenix since February 27, 1988, a span of 12 games.
Phoenix used a 13-0 fourth-quarter run to solidify its lead and snap a two-game losing streak. Kidd scored six straight points to start the run that was capped when Marion knocked down a bucket to push the advantage to 103-82 with 4:01 to go, marking the team's largest lead.
The Wizards scored 18 points from the line in the second quarter while being held scoreless from the field after Hubert Davis had a layup with 7:12 to play, allowing Phoenix to take a 59-48 lead into the break.
Richard Hamilton led four Wizards in double figures with 25 points on 10-of-18 shooting. Christian Laettner added 18 off the bench for Washington, which shot 49 percent (32-of-65) and made 26-of-42 from the line.
Washington gave up 27 points on 23 turnovers and dropped its third straight game.
The Suns posted a season-high 34 first-quarter points and led from start to finish. They snapped a two-game losing streak by shooting 43 percent (38-of-87).
Playing in front of former President George Bush, Washington lost for the six time in seven road games.
Cliff Robinson scored 18 points and Vinny Del Negro added 10 off the bench for Phoenix, which avoided its first sweep by Washington since the 1987-88 season.
