Game Story

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Andre Miller posted a triple-double and Lamond Murray added 19 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers downed the Vince Carter-less Toronto Raptors for the first time in nearly three years, 99-81.

Miller collected 22 points, 17 assists and 10 rebounds and Ricky Davis had 18 points as the Cavaliers ended a 10-game losing streak against Toronto, which placed its All-Star forward on the injured list Tuesday with a strained left quadricep.

"We needed this win, and obviously Vince Carter didn't play," Miller said. "We just came out with a lot of energy and it was a good defensive effort by everybody."

Miller's fourth career triple-double was his third of the season.

"I knew I was close," Miller admitted. "I was letting the game come to me, and got a loose ball for a rebound. It wasn't a big deal."

Cleveland last beat the Raptors on April 16, 1999.

The Cavs outscored Toronto, 31-16, in the second quarter en route to a 54-41 halftime lead. Murray scored five points in an 8-0 spurt that put Cleveland ahead for good, including a 3-pointer that capped the run with 4:04 left for a 43-35 advantage.

Keon Clark scored 18 points and Morris Peterson added 17 for the Raptors, who shot 42 percent (33-of-79) from the floor.

Cleveland shot 48 percent (37-of-77) and gave the ball up only nine times while forcing 19 turnovers. The win was just the third in the team's last 18 games.

"The turnovers hurt us early in the game," Raptors coach Lenny Wilkens said. "That's what I was worried about. I said we might be a little ragged coming out -- first game back after the All-Star break. I don't like it, especially when you have to be on the road."

Toronto's biggest lead came early when Antonio Davis' jumper gave the Raptors a 10-4 edge three minutes in.

"We just stayed on them for the first half," Murray said. "I guess they were looking for someone to pick up the scoring load for Vince. We got off on fast breaks and took advantage of their turnovers."

The Raptors have lost four of their last five on the road.
