Game StorySALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Matt Harpring scored 33 points for his second straight career high to lead the Utah Jazz to a 95-77 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves, their sixth straight win. Harpring, who scored 30 points for the first time in his five-year career in Tuesday's win over the Los Angeles Clippers, made 13-of-18 shots against the Timberwolves. He shot 4-of-4 from 3-point range and also pulled down nine rebounds. "I don't go into a game expecting to get anything," Harpring said. "It's just that I got some open looks tonight and my teammates were finding me. ... I got a rhythm tonight and they kept looking for me out there." "He's playing extremely well," said Utah guard Mark Jackson, who had four points and six assists off the bench. "The great thing about him is he's a guy that competes, on the floor he makes things happen." Karl Malone added 20 points and eight rebounds for the Jazz, who have bounced back from losing seven of their first 10 games. Utah has played particulary well at home, winning five of six at the Delta Center. Kevin Garnett scored 21 points to lead four players in double figures for Minnesota, which faltered in the fourth quarter. The Wolves were within striking distance at 77-68 after three periods but scored just nine points the rest of the way. Garnett grabbed 13 rebounds, but Utah held a 54-42 advantage on the boards. Jarron Collins joined Harpring with nine rebounds and three others had at least seven. "They just made all the hustle plays," said Minnesota's Rod Strickland, who had 12 points and four assists off the bench. "Offensive rebounds, loose balls and easy baskets in transition." Although the Jazz outscored the Wolves, 47-28, in the second half, and Strickland felt his team was outworked, Utah coach Jerry Sloan was not happy with what he perceived as a lack of effort from his team. "I thought we had stretches where it looked like we didn't even care," Sloan said. "I'll have to be honest about that. ... It looked like we were running in mud. Hard for me to understand." Minnesota had a three-game road winning streak snapped. It had won four of its last five trips to Utah.
