Game StoryOAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- Jason Richardson's perfect aim derailed the Los Angeles Lakers' resurgence. Richardson made all six of his 3-pointers en route to 26 points and Earl Boykins came up huge down the stretch as the Golden State Warriors held on for a 106-102 victory over the Lakers. Los Angeles struggled through its first 20 games but seemed to be resurrected by Friday's dramatic 30-point comeback against Dallas. After a convincing victory over red-hot Utah, the Lakers apparently were regaining their championship form, but faced Richardson on the wrong night. Richardson made 10-of-17 shots from the floor and tied his career-high for 3-pointers. He set a franchise record for most 3-pointers made without a miss. Gilbert Arenas scored 25 points on 9-of-14 shooting and Antawn Jamison added 17 as the Warriors defeated the Lakers for just the sixth time in 29 meetings. "We are real proud of our basketball team because we came into tonight's game after losing a tough one to Dallas and the Lakers come in here hitting on all cylinders," Golden State coach Eric Musselman said. "This was a great win for us." Golden State had a 101-92 cushion after Richardson's final 3-pointer with 3:17 remaining. But Kobe Bryant responded with a 3-pointer for the Lakers and Shaquille O'Neal had an alley-oop dunk to narrow the lead to four. Los Angeles' guard Derek Fisher was fouled shooting a 3-pointer from the right corner with 1:47 to go. He made all three free throws to bring the Lakers within 101-100. Boykins made 1-of-2 free throws 32 seconds later and Robert Horry missed a 3-pointer at the other end. The 5-5 Boykins drew an offensive foul on Fisher with 10 seconds left as the Lakers wasted a fast-break opportunity. "It's one of those things where you have to do what you can do while on the floor," Boykins said. "It is more mental than anything. If you believe that you can come off the bench and create a spark then you will." Arenas and Boykins each buried a pair of free throws in the final 9.4 seconds as the Warriors won for the fourth time in six games. Boykins finished with 14 points and a season-high eight assists and Danny Fortson collected a season-high 10 points and 11 rebounds for Golden State. "Earl has been a guy who energizes us when he comes into the game and gives Jason and Gilbert some rest," Musselman said. "Earl is the perfect complement for us with his size and athleticism." O'Neal had a season-high 36 points and nine rebounds and Bryant finished with 19 points and 14 assists for the Lakers, who have lost 10 of 12 games on the road this season. "I'm just waiting for us to put out the extra effort," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "I thought there were some loose balls on the floor that we should've gone after, and it just seemed like we didn't want to get down and get after the things we have to get after." "We played well in spurts tonight," Bryant said. "We came out and started very well. In the second quarter, Golden State gained momentum and we weren't able to fully get it back. We did a good job of fighting towards the end, but we weren't able to get over the hump." Arenas scored 17 points on 7-of-7 shooting in the first quarter. But O'Neal and Bryant scored 10 apiece as the Lakers jumped out a 30-23 advantage. Los Angeles had a 42-37 edge with five minutes left in the second before Golden State reeled off nine straight points to take the lead for good. Richardson buried a 3-pointer with 4:03 left to forge a tie and gave the Warriors the lead for good on a reverse layup 30 seconds later.
