Game StoryMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Jason Williams' clutch shooting lifted the Memphis Grizzlies over the 90-point mark, and that was all they needed to get past the Denver Nuggets. Williams scored five of the final six points for the Grizzlies, who wasted a 16-point lead but recovered to match the longest winning streak in franchise history with a 96-93 victory over the Nuggets. The Grizzlies were trailing by three when Williams, who finished with 16 points and nine assists, sank a 3-pointer with 35.2 seconds left. The oft-maligned point guard then converted a pair of free throws with 25.8 seconds remaining to put Memphis ahead for good, 95-93. "I told myself, if I got the ball, I was going to shoot," Williams said. "It's good to see the guys smiling." Pau Gasol had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who have won three straight for the fourth time in franchise history. They last won three in a row from January 8-12. Donnell Harvey came off the bench to score a career-high 23 points on 11-of-15 shooting and lead Denver's fourth-quarter charge. But James Posey missed the potential game-tying 3-pointer with three seconds left and the Nuggets slipped to 0-10 this season when giving up 90 points or more. "The Grizzlies had a great shooting night and we got down early," Harvey said. "Coming from 16 points down and trying to catch up, though, is kind of hard." Wesley Person, rookie Drew Gooden and Lorenzen Wright added 14 points apiece for the Grizzlies, who had six players reach double figures. Person entered the contest ranked second in the NBA in 3-point shooting at 50 percent (31-of-62). The 6-6 forward scored 11 points in the second quarter, including three shots from beyond the arc, as Memphis took a 51-37 halftime lead. "I know when my shots are going to come now," Person said. "I'm in the flow and I don't have to rush my shot now." The Grizzlies combined to shoot 9-of-14 (64 percent) from 3-point range. Memphis enjoyed a 16-point cushion just 92 seconds into the third quarter, but the Nuggets chipped away and trailed 75-68 after 36 minutes. "I learned in my first year in the league that in two days nobody will know whether this was a three-point win or 15-point win," Grizzlies coach Hubie Brown said. "The main thing in the NBA is to get the 'W,' by one point or whatever. Just be happy with the win." Harvey took over during a three-minute span in the fourth, recording eight straight points and slicing Denver's deficit to just 84-82 with 4:44 left. "I was just reading the defense and waiting on them to react first, then go with my move," Harvey said. Juwan Howard hit a jumper with just under four minutes to go and knotted the contest at 84-84. The Nuggets' leading scorer then made consecutive shots to put his team in front for the first time, 91-90, with only 69 seconds to play. Chris Whitney, who collected nine assists, hit a pair from the line to give Denver a 93-90 advantage with 43 seconds left. "The thing we need to learn is that we can't dig ourselves in a hole like we did early on in the game and then expect to dig ourselves out of it on the road against a team whose record is deceiving," Nuggets coach Jeff Bzdelik said. The Grizzlies were missing forward Shane Battier, who has an infection in his right lower leg, and guard Brevin Knight, who is hobbled by an injured right foot.
