Game StoryORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Tracy McGrady scored 31 points as the Orlando Magic survived more than a quarter without a basket and held for their third straight win, a 94-91 victory over the Chicago Bulls. "It was a win," Orlando coach Doc Rivers said. "It's funny and I really thought you could see it, we were playing on dead legs and that was from coming back from that road trip. It was nice to win the game that way. Tough playing T-Mac 42 minutes a night, I will say that, and we have to resurrect that." After McGrady scored off an inbounds pass with 2:30 left in the third quarter to give Orlando its largest lead of the game at 73-60, the Magic did not make another basket until Marcus Fizer was called for goaltending on Andrew DeClercq's layup with 1:44 to play. Fizer was also called for a foul, and DeClercq converted the three-point play to put Orlando up, 87-80. The Magic were able to survive their 2-of-9 shooting in the fourth quarter by holding the Bulls to 7-of-25 shooting and making 15-of-24 free throws. Three of Chicago's baskets came in the final minute in a failed frantic comeback. "We had some guys with real nice opportunities to make shots and they didn't," Bulls coach Bill Cartwright said. "I know they were disappointed. That's too bad. There wasn't any one thing, it was a lot of little things." McGrady had a chance to seal the win when he was fouled with four seconds to go. But he missed the first of two free throws, leaving the door open for the Bulls. However, Rick Brunson could not get a potential tying shot. "I was just trying to make something out of nothing," said Brunson, who scored a season-high 17 points, including 15 in the second quarter. "I just tried to get the foul. It was a good no-call." McGrady shot just 1-of-3 from the field and 6-of-12 from the line in the fourth quarter. He did not speak to reporters after the game. "We didn't shoot free throws well," Orlando guard Darrell Armstrong said. "I missed (one) and Tracy missed (six), but we overcame that because we played defense. You have to buckle down and take it upon yourself to get stops on defense and that's what we did." Armstrong missed the first of his two free throws with 24 seconds left and allowed Jalen Rose to get the Bulls within 91-89 on a long 3-pointer with 14 seconds to go. Rose scored 13 of his 28 points in the third quarter for Chicago, which has lost 20 of its last 21 road games. Orlando forward Pat Garrity collected seven points and nine rebounds, including four on the offensive end. "I think it's because we were missing a lot of shots," Garrity said. "There were plenty to be had." Although they did not make any shots in the first 10 minutes of the fourth quarter, the Magic were only outscored 13-9 over that stretch. DeClercq could have ended the drought sooner but missed shots from directly under the basket with both 4:31 and 3:03 left.
