Game StorySAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Tim Duncan collected 17 points, 10 rebounds and four blocks as the red-hot San Antonio Spurs forced 24 turnovers and pounded the lifeless Miami Heat, 84-69, for their 11th win in 12 games. Malik Rose contributed 14 points and eight boards and Bruce Bowen scored 11 points for the Spurs, who recorded their fourth straight home win and improved to 10-0 at the SBC Center against Eastern Conference teams. San Antonio took control with a 14-4 run that spanned the first two quarters, opening a 31-19 advantage on Rose's jumper with 3:10 remaining in the first half. The Spurs led by as many as 33 points before the Heat ended the game with an 18-2 run. "Our perimeter play was great tonight. Defensively, it was the key," Duncan said. "(Miami) had to work for every shot tonight." Eddie Jones scored 13 points and rookie Sean Lampley netted 11 off the bench for Miami, which has lost four in a row on the road and four of the last five overall. "Our offensive performance was dismal tonight," said Heat coach Pat Riley, whose team was held below 70 points for the fourth time in the last 10 games. "I thought our defense did a good job of making plays happen down the stretch, but we shot ourselves in the foot offensively." "We just didn't come ready to play tonight," Jones added. "We have to be focused and prepared." San Antonio had a 43-30 halftime lead and stretched it to 66-44 after three quarters. It led by at least 20 points for most of the second half. "We kept the pressure on them defensively, and that prevents them from getting in sync and getting what they wanted," Rose said. The victory pulled the Spurs within 4 1/2 games of first-place Dallas in the Midwest Division. Rookie Emanuel Ginobili had 10 points, four rebounds and three steals in 15 energetic minutes for the Spurs, who improved to 15-1 all-time at home against the Heat. "We moved the ball well tonight," San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said. "Everybody combined in that effort and everybody got involved." San Antonio shot 45 percent (32-of-71) from the field and held a 42-37 rebounding edge. With rookie Caron Butler recovering from dehydration caused by the flu, the punchless Heat began their three-game road trip with even less potency than usual. Miami sank just 13 baskets in the first half and shot 40 percent (30-of-74) from the field overall. At the free-throw line, the Heat were just 6-of-9.
