Game StoryMINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Vince Carter played in pain. It also was a pretty painful offensive experience for the rest of the Toronto Raptors. Carter played through an injury to his right forearm in a forgettable performance by the Raptors, who were held to a franchise low for points in a 73-56 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. One of the NBA's most exciting players when healthy, Carter has missed 61 games the last two seasons with an assortment of injuries. This season, Carter had scored 65 points in leading the Raptors to the first 2-0 start in club history. But the third game proved to be a different story for Carter, who again was bitten by the injury bug. On a drive to the basket in the first quarter, Carter hurt his right forearm. He iced the injury on the bench early in the second quarter, played with a wrap on his arm in the second half and finished with 15 points on 5-of-13 shooting in 35 minutes. The Raptors shot a woeful 27.6 percent (19-of-69) in setting a franchise mark for futility. Their previous low was 64 against Charlotte on November 20, 2000. In addition to the franchise mark, it also was one of the worst offensive performances in NBA history. The Chicago Bulls hold the league record for fewest points, scoring 49 against Miami on April 19, 1999. Toronto's offensive struggles came one night after Minnesota was held to a franchise low in an 84-61 loss at New Jersey.
