Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Bucks are making up for a lack of star power with an abundance of teamwork. Michael Redd had seven of his 25 points in a decisive fourth-quarter run as the Bucks coasted to a 100-95 triumph over the Utah Jazz. Redd keyed a 13-0 run that turned a one-point edge into a 90-76 bulge. Desmond Mason ignited the spurt with a jumper with 7:54 left and Redd capped it by finding Tim Thomas for a basket with 4:16 remaining. After Mason's basket, Redd buried jumpers of 15 and 13 feet before extending the Bucks' lead to 88-76 with a 3-pointer. "(Redd) got on a good roll there," first-year coach Terry Porter said. "He didn't get a lot of quality looks in the first half; I think he had four or five shots." "I just got on track," Redd said. "I just wanted to get back on track and the confidence came to me." Utah, which completed a 1-3 road trip, had opened the quarter with an 11-4 run to get back in the game. Without any of the star quality it has had in the past, Milwaukee (5-4) has gotten it done with a complete team effort. Five different players have led the team in scoring, six in rebounding and four in assists. Saturday's victory followed Porter's formula for success. Thomas chipped in 17 points and Desmond Mason and Daniel Santiago had 13 apiece. Santiago's points were a season high and two shy of his career high. Dan Gadzuric contributed seven rebounds and a career-high seven blocks for the Bucks, who got 35 points from their four reserves, who combined to make 12-of-23 shots. "We had a lot of guys step us for on offense," Porter said. "Everybody is hungry," Redd said. "There are no egos. There are guys that have never started before. We are just trying to win." Redd also felt that the young club is taking its cues from Porter, a veteran of 17 NBA seasons. "He is collected and confident," Redd said. "When you have a confident coach it helps. He lets you play and figure it out. We are not a veteran team so that confidence is a good sign." One night after scoring a career-high 30 points in Utah's first road win of the season, guard Carlos Arroyo had 21. The Jazz committed 23 turnovers, the most by a Bucks opponent this season. "We just turned the ball over, they made us turn the ball over so many times," Jazz coach Jerry Sloan said. "It is pretty tough to come away with anything when you play that way. I don't know where our heads were." "It was carelessness," Jazz forward Matt Harpring said. "We aren't taking care of the ball and trying to do too much and not running the offense."
