Game StoryBOSTON (Ticker) -- P.J. Brown and the New Orleans Hornets did not shoot well, but they did a good job of collecting the misses. Brown scored 12 points on 4-of-14 shooting but had 16 rebounds as the Hornets defeated the Boston Celtics, 81-73, for their season-high fourth straight victory. Jamaal Magloire added 15 points and 12 rebounds for New Orleans, which shot just 37 percent (30-of-82) but held a 50-31 advantage on the glass, including 24-8 on the offensive end. Baron Davis added 17 points but connected on just 6-of-22 shots, including 2-of-11 from the arc. David Wesley was 4-of-12 for 11 points. "It was all about rebounding the offensive boards tonight and rebounding the defensive board," Hornets coach Tim Floyd said. "Every shot was a struggle - we just didn't have it offensively tonight. It's really encouraging to know you can win when the main thrust of our offense, David and Baron, didn't have good shooting nights." "Clearly the glass is a major-league problem for us," Boston coach Jim O'Brien said. "We didn't practice much yesterday, but we sure practiced blocking out. It didn't work. So back to the drawing board." The Hornets held a 50-38 rebounding edge in an 88-85 road triumph over defending Eastern Conference champion New Jersey on Tuesday. "We had a big win last night and we knew coming in that we were going to be a little tired, a little fatigued," Brown said. "But as usual, it's your defensive rebounding that's going to pull you out these type of games like it did for us tonight." Paul Pierce scored 23 points to pace Boston, which fell behind for good, 6-4, on a layup by Magloire with 7:40 left in the first quarter. Boston got within 61-59 on a layup by rookie Marcus Banks with 9 1/2 minutes left, but veteran Steve Smith made a layup and a runner and Davis a layup to give New Orleans a 67-59 edge with 6:06 left, and the Celtics got no closer than three points thereafter. "I think our focus was the best I've seen since we played in the playoffs last year," Davis said. "Our guys are coming in here knowing what they have to do, the task in hand, and they're sticking to it."
