Game StoryEAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- In front of a smaller crowd than usual for the New Jersey Nets, Kenyon Martin gave the sparse group of spectators one of his best games. Martin collected 20 points and a career high-tying 21 rebounds and Jason Kidd recorded his fourth triple-double as the Nets ended a four-game skid with a 93-86 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Martin had a double-double by halftime after averaging only 6.6 rebounds in his previous five games. He matched his 21-rebound effort on January 29, 2003 against Washington. "Just seeing the ball and going to get it," Martin said. "Before I was indecisive about it. Now, I'm just going." New Jersey, which ranks near the bottom of the league in attendance, had plenty of empty seats Friday due to the blizzard that covered the region. The announced crowd was 14,154 fans, but approximately 2,500 people actually braved the weather and showed up. "It was a little different and we'll leave it at that," Nets coach Byron Scott said. Martin had a pair of dunks in a 12-0 spurt that gave New Jersey the lead for good at 36-30 with just over five minutes left before halftime. Kerry Kittles scored five of his 22 points in the run. Kidd finished with 16 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his 54th career triple-double. He also helped limit speedy Bucks rookie T.J. Ford to four points and five assists. "When Jason comes out and plays like he plays and Kenyon plays with emotion, our team feeds off that," Scott said. "And that's what we've been missing." The Nets held a 50-39 edge on the glass as Richard Jefferson grabbed eight and Aaron Williams six. New Jersey outrebounded an opponent for just the second time in the last six games and Martin reached double figures on the glass for the first time in that stretch. "That's what we expect," Jefferson said. "We knows he's not going to get 20 rebounds every night, but we need him to go the glass every night." Michael Redd led Milwaukee with 24 points and Desmond Mason added 19. The surprising Bucks, playing without injured forwards Tim Thomas and Toni Kukoc, concluded a three-game road trip against teams with losing records with just one win. "I called it yesterday," Redd said. "People said they were struggling, but they're a good team. We cannot overlook them." It was the first meeting between the teams since New Jersey defeated Milwaukee in six games in the first round of last season's playoffs.
