Game StoryLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett is showing a flair for the dramatic on the West Coast. Garnett's jumper over Elton Brand at the buzzer gave the Minnesota Timberwolves a 96-94 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers. "Garnett made a great shot even though he was very well-defended," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said. "Our defense was terrific and what we wanted it to be. I think we would stop him eight out of 10 times against that shot." On Friday, Garnett hit a pair of 3-pointers in the final minute at Sacramento to send the game to overtime before Minnesota won. At the Staples Center, he scored eight of his 24 points in the final quarter as the Timberwolves erased a 15-point deficit down the stretch. "KG showed why he earns the money that he does," said Minnesota guard Sam Cassell, who collected 24 points and 10 assists. "He plays hard every night." Garnett's shot also got the Clippers to stop talking after they spent the entire game firing verbal barbs at him. "I think the whole team, including the coach (was talking trash)," Garnett said. "It was kind of cool. We won the game, that's all that matters at this point. It was cool, it was a good Sunday game. I felt like I was at the park." With 8:05 left, Clippers rookie Chris Kaman hit a jumper to make it 83-68, but the Timberwolves responded with an 11-0 run and got within four points less than two minutes later on a basket by Latrell Sprewell. Sprewell scored 27 points to lead Minnesota. Cassell had 15 in the Timberwolves' 28-point fourth quarter. Minnesota won its third straight game to complete a 4-1 road trip. "If we keep playing like this, we will be all right," Sprewell said. "We did what we had to do to win the game." Corey Maggette scored 26 points to lead five Clippers in double figures. Marko Jaric added a season-high 18. "We played very well," said Brand, who added 13 points and eight rebounds. "We had a lead but just couldn't hold onto it. Garnett hit a great shot. I thought I was right there, but it went down." The Clippers have lost eight of their last 10 games after a four-game winning streak.
