Game StoryMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Bonzi Wells and the Memphis Grizzlies lit up the New Jersey Nets for their biggest win in franchise history. Wells scored 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting in a 110-63 blowout, handing the Nets their third-worst defeat since joining the NBA. "We have to continue to do this and play as a family," Wells said. "I'm happy to be a part of the team." "I don't think we were ready from the beginning of the game," said Nets coach Byron Scott, who kept his team's locker room closed for 35 minutes after the game. Stromile Swift and Mike Miller added 18 points apiece as Memphis bounced back from Friday's 91-88 loss to Miami. The Grizzlies' previous largest margin of victory was a 124-92 win over Atlanta on March 16. "You never go into a game thinking you are going to win like that," Miller said. New Jersey's previous worst defeat since entering the NBA in 1976 was a 139-87 setback to Houston on October 10, 1978. "When you lose by 47 points that ranks pretty high as far as one of your worst efforts," Scott said. "I don't think in my four years here we've played that bad." Kenyon Martin scored 12 points while Jason Kidd and Aaron Williams each added 10 for the shorthanded Nets. New Jersey played without starting center Jason Collins, who suffered a sprained left ankle in Friday's win over Orlando. Richard Jefferson and Lucious Harris also suffered injuries as the Nets had their season-high four-game winning streak snapped. Jefferson left the game in the first quarter because of back spasms but returned in the second. Harris exited in the third period after spraining his right ankle and did not return. "I tried to get out there, but I was hurting," Jefferson said. "Most days I might try to sit down, but today we needed it." Already trailing at the start of the fourth quarter, the Nets managed just 10 points in final period. Behind closed doors, Kidd was overheard yelling profanities at his teammates during the meeting. "I thought this was a good time to address the team," Kidd said. "Sure I was disappointed, but my speech was short and sweet." "I like when J (Kidd) speaks up like that," Scott said. "He's one of the best players in the league. He's been around a long time. He's seen pretty much everything in this league, so when he speaks out you have to listen." New Jersey scored just 28 points in the first half, the lowest first-half total ever for a Grizzlies opponent. The Nets committed a season-high 30 turnovers, which accounted for 40 of Memphis points. "We saw the total package tonight," Grizzlies coach Hubie Brown said. "We had six guys in double figures, and that's getting consistent." Memphis shot a franchise-record 62 percent (44-of-71) from the field, including 74 percent (14-of-19) in the third quarter. The Grizzlies swept the season series, having won in New Jersey 10 days ago.
