Game StoryORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Tracy McGrady, Drew Gooden and the Orlando Magic are coming alive. McGrady contributed 29 points, a season-high 12 assists and seven rebounds and Gooden added a season-best 25 points and 13 rebounds off the bench as the Magic routed the Golden State Warriors, 119-93. It was the Magic's fifth victory in seven games since a franchise-record 19-game losing streak. "We are evolving, we are growing," Magic coach Johnny Davis said. "We're taking it one step at a time. We know we sill have a lot of work to do but we think we're headed in the right direction." Juwan Howard scored 18 points, Gordan Giricek chipped in 17 and Rod Strickland added 11 and 12 assists for the Magic, who have won 11 in a row over Golden State at home since a loss on February 3, 1992. The Magic, who improved to just 2-12 at home, scored the game's first eight points and led thereafter. Orlando held a 62-50 advantage at the break, a 90-73 cushion after three quarters and led by as many as 31 down the stretch. "We just (were) pouring gas on that fire and just keep them down 15, 20, that was a good feeling," McGrady said. "We were having fun while we were doing (it). Hopefully we can continue doing it. This is a good sign for this team now." "That was a total team effort and a good win over a very good Golden State Warriors team," Davis said. "We came out with a lot of intensity, we came out with great purpose and we stayed true to that for the full 48 minutes. We got contributions up and down the line from guys on the roster. It was just a great team victory for us." Clifford Robinson had 17 points to pace Golden State, which had won the first two contests of its four-game road trip. "You can't ease into games," Robinson said. "I think we have had situations where we eased into games and it hurt us. Tonight was one of those cases. They got off to a good start and we were fighting and fighting, trying to get ourselves back into the game. We got it down to 12 and they took it back up." "The Magic are a team that struggled early on in the season, but they're playing a lot better," Warriors coach Eric Musselman said. "They're playing with a lot of confidence. They played with a great sense of urgency and they shot the heck out of the ball for 48 minutes tonight." Orlando dominated the glass, outrebounding Golden State, 54-31, and made 10-of-21 3-pointers while limiting the Warriors to 2-of-13. "Our guys were really focused on rebounding tonight," Davis said. "We did a good job. We knew that that was one of the keys against Golden State, to come in and hold your own with them on the glass and then also get back in transition and take away some of their easy baskets." "We did not defend tonight and go outrebounded by almost 30 rebounds," said Warriors guard Calbert Cheaney, who scored eight points. "You can't win basketball games that way."
