Game StoryEAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Richard Jefferson and the New Jersey Nets continued their success at home. Jefferson scored 26 points on 11-of-19 shooting as the Nets coasted to their sixth straight home win, 95-78 over the Chicago Bulls. Jason Kidd added 18 points and 10 assists while Kenyon Martin collected 16 points and nine rebounds for the Nets, who are 8-6 at the Continental Airlines Arena after losing six of their first eight home games. "Winning is always a lot of fun, especially when you win by a lot," Jefferson said. "We did a good job on the defensive end and got out in transition, and I think that is when we are at our best." Rookie Kirk Hinrich scored 17 points and Jerome Williams added 15 for the Bulls, who have lost four straight. Chicago has dropped nine in a row on the road and eight of 10 overall. "They got their break going and they are tough," Hinrich said. "That is how they got to the Finals the last two years, because of their break." The Nets outscored the Bulls on the fast break, 15-12. They opened the fourth quarter with an 11-0 run, extending their lead to 83-60 with 9:22 remaining. New Jersey held Chicago to 25 percent shooting (5-of-20) in the fourth quarter and 37 percent (29-of-78) for the game. The Nets connected at 49 percent (38-of-78). Bulls guard Jamal Crawford hit just 2-of-14 shots and finished with five points. Chris Jefferies scored a season-high 12 points but was just 4-of-11. "We continued to play hard to get back in the game," Williams said. "They made a huge run, but we got some stops. Then, unfortunately, we weren't able to do it again in the second half." Nets reserve guard Lucious Harris returned after missing one game with a left ankle injury but scored just two points in 22 minutes. Robert Pack helped pick up the slack with a season-high 10 points. Mikki Moore, who signed with New Jersey on Monday, did not score in four minutes. The contest was a reunion for Kidd, who played under Bulls coach Scott Skiles from 1999-2001 on the Phoenix Suns. Kidd found little inspiration in facing his former coach. He was motivated by another event, visiting former teammate Alonzo Mourning in the hospital Sunday. Mourning underwent a kidney transplant Friday. "My visit on Sunday with Alonzo really put me into perspective," Kidd said. "We can always look at big things and little things, but seeing a teammate recover from a kidney transplant helped me understand. Sometimes you need those experiences to help you gain the edge." New Jersey got off to a strong start in this one, building a 16-2 lead with 5:57 left in the first quarter. But Chicago closed the period with an 18-4 run to tie it. "I thought we came out making sure that we did not take the team for granted," Nets coach Byron Scott said. "Our starters did a good job of getting the start, but then we kind of relaxed a few minutes and then went back to the game."
