Game StoryBOSTON (Ticker) -- Tayshaun Prince got it going just in time to keep the Detroit Pistons rolling. Prince scored seven of his 13 points in a decisive fourth-quarter burst as the Pistons posted their sixth straight victory, a 78-68 triumph over the Boston Celtics. Richard Hamilton netted 15 points and reserve Elden Campbell added 13 as Detroit extended its NBA record by holding its 35th straight opponent this season under 100 points. The Pistons limited Boston to 29 percent shooting (24-of-82) and a season low in points. "We won this playing defense," Hamilton said. "We will definitely take this; we haven't had a game like this in a long time where you just flat out grind it from the beginning to the end. We didn't let our offense dictate our defense. We just came out and really played aggressive defense." The Pistons were cruising with a 65-57 lead just over two minutes into the fourth quarter when Boston went on an 8-0 run to tie it. But Prince took over, scoring seven of the next nine points as Detroit took charge with an 11-0 spurt. "Tayshaun made some huge plays, made a steal, made a couple of shots," Pistons coach Larry Brown said. "I think we were up 12 and they got a little life. But we didn't give second shots down the stretch and got some good shots of our own and were fortunate enough to win the game." "Tay made some big plays, he took his time and made the wide open looks and made the shots that he needed to make and played really good," Hamilton said. Prince was 5-of-8 from the field in the second half. "I was getting in the flow at that time, especially how the offense was going," Prince said. "A couple of times I got caught with the shot clock low and I had to make a play so once I got one or two shots to fall I had to keep putting it up." Paul Pierce had 27 points and Ricky Davis added 10 for the Celtics, who fell to 0-2 against the Pistons this season. Boston was out of sync offensively throughout, committing 17 turnovers and shooting just 9-of-34 from 3-point range. "I thought we had a bad night," Celtics coach Jim O'Brien said. "We did not shoot the basketball very well. We did not defend them inside very well and when you do those things you lose to a good basketball team." "The shots just wouldn't fall, we had opportunities," Pierce said. "A lot of looks I'll take any given night, I can see every shot in my head right now it just didn't fall for us tonight." Campbell had all 13 of his points in the first three quarters, providing a key spark off the bench. "Coach told me that I wasn't going to be starting and I thought that this might be a good opportunity for me to click with the second team a little better," Campbell said. "It was fun tonight and it felt good just hitting a couple of shots for us early."
