Game StoryDENVER (Ticker) -- Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs had little trouble rebounding from their first loss in a month. Duncan collected 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Spurs to a 98-74 rout of the Denver Nuggets. The Spurs had their NBA season-high 13-game winning streak snapped Saturday with a 83-77 home loss to Philadelphia. Duncan made just 4-of-12 shots from the field and 3-of-13 free throws en route to 11 points in that game. But the two-time NBA MVP was 10-of-15 from the floor and 10-of-14 at the line in this one. "I got to more spots on the court where I feel comfortable," Duncan said. "I'm setting myself a little better. I had an opportunity to move around a little more and not just get banged around." Denver led, 20-19, with 3 1/2 minutes left in the first quarter, but San Antonio used a 23-4 run to build a 42-24 lead with 9:10 left in the second period. The Spurs were in front by double digits the rest of the way. Tony Parker scored 14 points and Ron Mercer added 13 for the Spurs, who have won seven straight road games. "It was a very good win for us," San Antonio coach Gregg Popovich said. "I liked our transition defense and our bench came off and played good defense." Marcus Camby had 13 points and 13 rebounds, but the Nuggets lost for the fourth time in five games. "The effort and our defense have been very inconsistent as of late," Denver coach Jeff Bzdelik said. "I find it very disturbing. I am not sure why we are not playing with a competitive spirit." Camby had 20 rebounds in the teams' first meeting, an 80-72 triumph in the season opener. But Denver has lost eight of the last nine matchups between the Midwest Division rivals. "We are not sneaking up on anyone anymore," said Nuggets rookie Carmelo Anthony, who had nine points on 3-of-10 shooting. "People get up to play us. They were more aggressive tonight." Denver placed just three players in double figures and shot 37 percent (28-of-76) from the field. The Spurs had a 53-37 advantage on the boards. "San Antonio is a great half-court defensive team," Anthony said. "We had to settle for jump shots."
