Game StoryLOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Newcomer Matt Barnes and the Los Angeles Clippers used a late fourth-quarter rally to hand the Golden State Warriors their 11th straight road loss. Barnes had 13 points and 10 rebounds to help the Clippers pull out a 106-102 victory over the Warriors, their sixth straight home win in the series. "I just got in a flow," Barnes said. "Coach (Mike Dunleavy) left me in there for an extended period of time and I got in a rhythm." Golden State led, 95-88, with 5:24 to go in the final period but self-destructed on the road once again as Los Angeles used a 14-2 run to build a 102-97 cushion with 1:23 remaining. Playing in just his second NBA game after signing a 10-day contract Sunday, Barnes had six points and four rebounds during the spurt. "You just have to be prepared for situations like this and I'm just fortunate I got an opportunity to show the Clippers what I am capable of doing on the court," said Barnes, who played his college ball at UCLA. Quentin Richardson scored 25 points, Corey Maggette added 22 and Elton Brand 16 and 13 rebounds for the Clippers, who rebounded from Monday's 125-100 home loss to Sacramento. Jason Richardson had 28 points and 10 rebounds while Erick Dampier added 17 and 16 for the Warriors, who have not won a road game from the Clippers since March 2, 2002. "We should have won this game," Warriors guard Speedy Claxton said. "We just let it slip away. They had just too many rebounds for us to win the game." "The Clippers offensive rebounding kept them in the game when we were hitting our shots," Warriors coach Eric Musselman said. "You're not going to win on the road when you give the opposition 25 offensive rebounds.' Mike Dunleavy, Jr. had 16 points and 12 boards but dropped to 0-2 against his father. "We just gotta go out there and try to win, no matter who the coach is," Dunleavy Jr. said. "I want to beat him, but I wouldn't say I want to beat him more than anybody else. I want to win every game." Los Angeles got a 104-98 home victory in the first meeting, overcoming 24 points by Warriors reserve Brian Cardinal. The Clippers held Cardinal to just three points in this one. However, Cardinal seemed to be the only player Los Angeles could defend in the first half of the rematch. The Clippers allowed Golden State to shoot 50 percent (22-of-44) from the field in the first two quarters and build a 65-54 halftime lead, leading to a halftime speech from the elder Dunleavy. "Basically he was saying we were playing soft and coach was upset," Brand said. "It seemed like we were ready to give up but he wouldn't let us and we were able to put a good effort together in the second half and eventually win the game." But Los Angeles picked up its intensity on defense in the second half, holding the Warriors to 35 percent (14-of-40) the rest of the way.
