Game StoryPHOENIX (Ticker) -- Andrei Kirilenko and Carlos Arroyo helped Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan reach a milestone. Finally. Sloan collected his 900th career victory as the Jazz won for just the second time since Christmas, defeating the Phoenix Suns, 96-92, behind 21 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists from Kirilenko. The victory snapped a four-game slide for the Jazz and made Sloan just the eighth coach in NBA history to reach 900 wins. Detroit Pistons coach Larry Brown did it January 5. "The only thing I've ever cared about is winning number 25," Sloan said. "The other stuff really doesn't matter. I've always felt that something like that belongs to our franchise and coaches rather than just one individual. I certainly wouldn't be here is it wasn't for the guys that work for us." "That's a big digit," said Kirilenko. "I am happy that I was involved in about a hundred of them." Arroyo's 3-pointer with 35 seconds remaining just beat the shot clock and snapped a 90-90 tie. After Joe Johnson missed two free throws, Arroyo and Jarron Collins sealed the win by combining to make 3-of-4 free throws. Arroyo finished with 16 points, six rebounds and six assists for the Jazz, who play seven of their next nine games on the road. The Suns took their first lead in the game at 88-86 on a runner by Howard Eisley with 2:50 remaining. Kirilenko immediately answered with a 3-pointer from the top of the key and Phoenix was never able to reclaim the lead. "I just tried to win the game," Kirilenko said. "I felt like I needed to take that shot." Sloan joins Brown, Don Nelson and Lenny Wilkens as the only active coaches with 900 wins. "Working with him has helped my career and work ethic," Utah guard Maurice Wiliams said. "I am taking advantage of the opportunity every day." Phoenix's Amare Stoudemire blocked 10 shots, tying Larry Nance's franchise record set in 1988. Stoudemire blocked six shots in the first quarter and seven in the first half, tying franchise records set by Andrew Lang. Phoenix set a season high with 14 blocks. "It didn't feel like 10 blocks," Stoudemire said. "I didn't even know that I broke the record (actually tied) until after the game. I just wanted to come out with some intensity and energy." The game marked the first time in 45 games that the Suns had double digits in blocked shots. Stoudemire led the Suns with 20 points, six rebounds and four steals. His previous career high for blocks was six, coming in November 2002. "Ten blocks and four steals is unbelieveable," Kirilenko said. "I can only dream about it." The Suns have lost three in a row and are now 1-3 on a five-game homestand. Eight of their last nine losses have been by five points or less.
