Game StoryCLEVELAND (Ticker) -- A lot has changed since the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics made a trade earlier this season. Rookie LeBron James scored 24 points and Zydrunas Ilgauskas had 19 and a season-high 16 rebounds as Cleveland ended a long drought against Boston with a 97-89 victory. The Cavaliers snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Celtics, posting their first victory in the series since November 4, 2000, and benefited from a stoppage in play that appeared to halt some Boston momentum. The Celtics have definitely lost momentum since making a six-player swap with the Cavaliers on December 15 that sent Eric Williams to Cleveland and Ricky Davis to Boston. When he was traded, Davis criticized the Cavaliers and their fans, but the Celtics have gone 10-17 since the deal. On Monday, Davis was booed whenever he touched the ball and managed 10 points with four turnovers, while Williams was pivotal in Cleveland's fourth-quarter run. "I knew that (the boos) were going to happen, after the comments he made when he left Cleveland," Cavaliers guard Ira Newble said. "He had to expect it when he made those harsh comments. He apologized later." The Cavaliers trailed 84-83 with 8:18 left in the fourth quarter before going on a 9-0 spurt. Williams gave Cleveland the lead for good with a jumper and drained a 3-pointer. James, who played the final 10 minutes with a slight calf injury, added two free throws and Jeff McInnis' bank shot gave the Cavaliers a 92-84 advantage with 5:41 left. "We buckled down in the fourth quarter and got the stops when we needed them," said Williams, who had nine if his 16 points in the fourth quarter. "When the fourth quarter comes, it's a whole different energy level." Carlos Boozer had 12 points and nine rebounds as Cleveland snapped an 11-game losing streak at home to Boston and a three-game skid overall. "The win puts us in a position now where we're right there with the other three teams fighting for that (playoff) spot," Cavalier coach Paul Silas said. James became the youngest player (19 years, 41 days) in NBA history to score 1,000 points. The milestone came on his 11th point of the evening. Paul Pierce pulled Boston within 92-86 with 4:53 with a basket before a scoreboard malfunction delayed the game for 11 minutes. Although Pierce made a free throw to cut the deficit to five points, the Celtics' momentum stalled after the delay. "With that delay at 4:53 we just, from that point on, didn't seem to really make shots or get shots or make the extra pass to find the open man," said Celtics interim coach John Carroll, whose team was just 5-of-19 in the fourth quarter. "We just had a little bit of an offensive meltdown to some extent." Pierce scored 32 points and Mark Blount 13 for Boston, which lost for the seventh time in the last eight games. "I didn't think (the stoppage) was a problem," Pierce said. "Both teams were just sitting there. If you try to make that an excuse, that's really not an excuse to make, that it stopped us from getting going. Both teams had to sit."
