Game StoryCHICAGO (Ticker) -- With each win, the Memphis Grizzlies move into uncharted territory. James Posey scored 27 points as the Grizzlies nearly let a 23-point lead slip away before pulling out a 105-98 victory over the Chicago Bulls, moving 11 games over .500 for the first time in franchise history. The Grizzlies (33-22) already have set several franchise records and need nine victories to clinch their first winning season. In this one, they extended the single-season team mark for wins, improved to 8-1 in February and stretched their record for triumphs in a month. "We're looking further ahead, a little more forward," Grizzlies forward Pau Gasol said. "We're looking to get every win that we can. We're not looking to set a record or anything like that. We're just looking to get every win that we can, game by game. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we're in a good spot to go somewhere." "We are just trying to care of business," guard Bonzi Wells added. "You start stacking wins on top of wins, that's it. I remember my days at Portland, looking at the playoff picture and then we would get sidetracked. It hurt our chances." Memphis nearly gave it away, having taken a 58-44 halftime lead and building its advantage to 74-51 with 7:48 remaining in the third quarter. The Bulls ended the period on a 21-2 run and were within 76-72 heading to the final period. Kirk Hinrich fueled the spurt with 15 points but seemed to tire as Memphis regained control. "We just wanted to keep fighting," Hinrich said. "We had not played to that point and we were able to make a little bit of a run and make it a little bit interesting." "I guess it is a familiar refrain," Chicago coach Scott Skiles added. "We always go through some point in the game where we are just not showing up, not real sharp and a little lackadaisical. Tonight, it was in the beginning. Sometimes it is the start of the third." Memphis' lead was sliced to 76-74 when Hinrich hit a short jumper with 11:18 to play. But Gasol scored eight of his 23 points over the next eight minutes and Posey sealed the Grizzlies' fourth straight win by making eight foul shots down the stretch. After its rough stretch in the third, Memphis made 15-of-18 free throws in the fourth to improve to 18-5 since January 5. The Grizzlies got key baskets from Gasol and took advantage of 48 trips to the foul line en route to their 22nd victory in 23 games when leading through three quarters. "It was great," Gasol said. "As usual, we played really well down the stretch. We were able to stop their momentum." Hinrich finished with a season-high 25 points and Marcus Fizer added a season-high 21. But the Bulls got little from Jamal Crawford, who was held to four points in 15 minutes.
