Game StoryMIAMI (Ticker) -- Lamar Odom showed just how determined he is to carry the Miami Heat into the playoffs. Odom scored a season-high 30 points, grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds and handed out 11 assists to lead the Heat to a 102-96 upset of the Sacramento Kings. "That has to be one of the best games played in this league for the entire year," Heat coach Stan Van Gundy said. "I have seen a lot of great performances here by a lot of great players, but there haven't been any better than that. That is a phenomenal performance." The triple-double was the first by a member of the Heat in 739 games - ending the NBA's longest current drought - and the eighth of Odom's career. "Getting a triple-double is something I always strive for," said Odom, who made 11-of-18 shots. "The best part of it is the 19 rebounds and 11 assists because scoring happens, but putting up those kinds of numbers in rebounds and assists shows you're getting your teammates involved. And that's very rewarding." The win moved Miami (27-36) into a tie with Boston for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The top eight teams make the playoffs. The Kings came in with the league's best record and a 20-2 mark against Eastern Conference teams, but they had no answer for the versatile Odom and left with a stunning loss. The 6-10 forward was matched mostly against Kings All-Star forward Chris Webber, who played his third game since returning from knee surgery and a suspension. Webber is still running with a slight limp and was no match for Odom's quickness. "He had a great game tonight," said Webber, who had 22 points and nine rebounds. "He's almost like a point forward. They put the ball in his hands and let him do what he does. He's a heck of a player, he always has been." Driving into the lane with ease and setting up teammates for open shots, Odom had 21 points, nine rebounds and five assists in the first half, when Miami opened a 48-39 lead. Sacramento scored the first 10 points of the second half and took the lead on a jumper by Mike Bibby with 9:46 left in the third quarter. Bibby finished with 24 points. A pair of free throws by Eddie Jones gave Miami the lead for good, 86-84, with 3:56 remaining in the final period. Odom penetrated the lane and whipped a pass to Rafer Alston, who drilled a 3-pointer from the right side to increase the advantage to 94-88 with 2:05 left. Alston was the beneficiary of most of Odom's assists, finishing with 20 points. Rasual Butler and Udonis Haslem each added 17 off the bench. Jones made three free throws in the final 24 seconds to seal the win and played smothering defense on Sacramento's Peja Stojakovic, who made just 4-of-13 shots and finished with 14 points.
