Game StorySAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs continue to thrive without Tim Duncan. Malik Rose scored 17 points to lead seven players in double figures as the Spurs turned back a rally by the reeling Golden State Warriors and pulled away for a 99-74 victory, their fifth in seven games without their superstar. Duncan, the two-time NBA MVP, missed six games with a left quadriceps injury. He returned to play 15 minutes in Wednesday's rout of the Los Angeles Clippers but was rested in this one as a precaution. The superstar power forward is expected to practice Saturday and play Sunday against Sacramento. In the meantime, his teammates are turning foes into practice fodder. Fueled by a balanced attack, the Spurs never trailed and led by as many as 25 points. They shot 48 percent (40-of-84) from the field and committed just seven turnovers. Reserves Manu Ginobili and Kevin Willis each scored 16 points for San Antonio, which has won the last 13 home meetings with Golden State. The Warriors have lost eight in a row overall. San Antonio's starters scored just 20 points in the first half, but Willis had 12 and Robert Horry added 11 off the bench. The Spurs held the Warriors to 35 percent (14-of-40) shooting and opened a 48-34 lead. Golden State went 6 1/2 minutes without a basket in the fourth quarter. It got within 73-65 on two free throws by Jason Richardson with 9:12 to go before the Spurs rattled off 13 straight points, including 3-pointers by Hedo Turkoglu, Tony Parker and Ginobili. Parker and Horry scored 13 points each and Turkoglu added 10. Parker had 12 assists and Turkoglu grabbed nine rebounds.
