Game StoryTORONTO (Ticker) -- Antonio Davis' new team isn't headed to the playoffs. But its success against his old team could kill the Toronto Raptors' playoff hopes. Eddy Curry scored a season-high 28 points and rookie Kirk Hinrich collected 21 and 13 assists as the Chicago Bulls ended a seven-game losing streak with a 96-91 victory over the Raptors. For the sixth straight season, the Bulls will miss the playoffs. They have just 19 wins, but three have been against the Raptors, who could not afford to lose. Davis, who was acquired by Chicago with Jerome Williams for Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall on December 1, was booed in pregame introductions and every time he touched the ball. But he didn't let it affect his play as he contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds. "I still don't remember being booed like that," Davis said. "Fans here are very passionate about their city and their team. It makes you concentrate. You really don't get caught up in coming back to Toronto or playing them, but I wanted to do well." Curry's best showing of the season came just three days after coach Scott Skiles played him just 18 minutes in a blowout loss at Cleveland. In 36 minutes, he made 11-of-18 shots. He scored five points during a 9-0 run that pushed Chicago's lead to 78-68 with 7:18 to play. "I definitely had a little pep in my step," Curry said. "We match up well against them. I just tried to capitalize on it. I was able to go inside and get some easy buckets." With a tough four-game road trip looming, the Raptors (29-39) were dealt a costly loss. They came in 1 1/2 games behind New York and Miami for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. "Every loss is disheartening," Toronto coach Kevin O'Neill said. "Obviously any time you lose now, it becomes a longer shot or bigger odds or whatever." O'Neill's team plays 12 of it 14 remaining games against playoff contenders. The Raptors visit New Orleans, Memphis, Houston and New York on the upcoming trip and visit Indiana, Cleveland, Detroit and Milwaukee on April. Vince Carter led Toronto with 30 points and Rose added 24, but both went scoreless in the final 3:04. Both Carter and Rose missed shots that could have cut the deficit to 85-84. After Curry missed a pair at the line, they missed mid-range jumpers. Morris Peterson then committed a turnover and Curry and Hinrich scored baskets on Chicago's next two possessions to put the Bulls ahead, 89-82, with 84 seconds remaining. "To be honest, that was a total embarrassment," Rose said. "We didn't get it done. It's unacceptable to go 0-3 against Chicago. It's unacceptable. We have to play with a sense of urgency, like we really want to get into the playoffs." Carter hurt his knee in the first half when he collided with Chicago's Tyson Chandler. He admitted it affected his play in the second half when he was limited to nine points but also agreed that losing to the Bulls was unacceptable. "They have nothing to play for and we have a lot to play for," Carter said. "We take two steps forward and now we're taking a step back and it makes it a little harder."
