Game StorySEATTLE (Ticker) -- If they keep playing like this, the Seattle SuperSonics could be in the thick of the playoff race by next week. Ray Allen scored 26 points and Antonio Daniels added 11 of his 15 from the free-throw line as the SuperSonics extended their season-high winning streak to six games with an 84-77 victory over the Utah Jazz. Seattle altered the playoff race as Utah (37-35) fell one-half game behind Denver for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The SuperSonics (33-38) moved within 3 1/2 games of Utah and trail ninth-place Portland by three. Seattle's next three games include two against Denver and a road game in Portland, giving it a prime opportunity to jump in the standings. "We've won six in a row and let's see if we can build on that," SuperSonics guard Brent Barry said. "Lets not talk about anything else until these next few games are over with and what next week shapes up to look like. I don't think any reporter is going to put words in our mouths about talking about the playoffs at this point." "I just hope some of these teams are ready to go on vacation," Allen said. "I don't think we are. We have a lot to prove to ourselves. If we don't make the playoffs, we want to be sitting home knowing we gave it our best shot." The SuperSonics led by as many as 22 points in the third quarter after a dismal first half by the Jazz, who scored a season-low 24 points on 9-of-37 shooting in the opening 24 minutes. "We just wanted to hang out on the perimeter in the first part of the game," Utah coach Jerry Sloan said. "In the first half, (we) didn't really believe in the offense." Utah climbed within 80-77 with 24 seconds remaining after Andrei Kirilenko scored five straight points. But Allen and Daniels each made a pair of free throws in the final 24 seconds as Seattle went 26-of-28 from the line. "(The Jazz) have beaten us three times this year, so to be able to beat them, it was good to get the monkey off our back," Allen said. Daniels was just 2-of-8 from the floor but made a clutch layup in the final minutes and was perfect from the stripe. Kirilenko finished with 16 points and eight rebounds and rookie Mo Williams added 15 off the bench for the Jazz, who lost for just the fifth time in their last 15 games. Utah made just 4-of-16 shots in the first quarter and went 5-of-21 in the second. Kirilenko was 1-of-7 from the floor in the first half while Raja Bell, who did not play after halftime, was 1-of-6. "I just think we can't make shots," Kirilenko said. "We just can't scored and didn't make any layups. Sometimes we played a little bit stupid. We take a shot, we take a shot, we take a bad shot."
