Game StoryORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Bob Sura backed up Jason Terry's boast that the Atlanta Hawks wouldn't be swept in their season series with the Orlando Magic. Sura scored a career-high 32 points and Stephen Jackson added 21 as the Hawks overcame a 21-point deficit to post a 95-87 victory over the woeful Magic, who have lost 10 straight games. Terry predicted before the game that Atlanta would win after Orlando took the first three meetings, but the Hawks trailed, 30-13, after the first quarter and by 19 points at halftime. Atlanta began the claw back in the third period and closed the game with a 15-0 run. "They weren't going to sweep nothing," said Terry, who chipped in 17 points. "They didn't do it. (The proclamation) was just a little something to motivate you at this point in the season. We are not going to the playoffs. We are still playing with a lot of pride." Rookie Britton Johnsen's layup gave the Magic a 87-80 lead with 5:03 left in the fourth quarter, but Orlando was hurt when Andrew DeClercq, who tied a career high with 17 rebounds, fouled out in the next minute. Terry tied it with a basket with 1:53 left and Jackson's two free throws gave the Hawks their first lead since early in the first quarter. They converted eight straight free throws to end the contest. "We were pretty discouraged at halftime with our effort," Sura said. "They were beating us up inside - (Juwan) Howard and DeClercq on the boards. We came out in the third quarter and I was able to get us going with some buckets. We were able to finish it off." Chris Crawford contributed 18 points for the Hawks, who snapped an eight-game losing streak in Orlando, winning here for the first time since a 114-110 triumph on March 8, 1999. "We did not want to get swept by them or end up with the worst record in the league," Crawford said. "This was a big game for us. We fell short the last few games. Once we got close, we talked in the huddle about not letting this one slide. We got some stops and rebounds." In their prior two games, the Hawks rallied from double-digit deficits only to get edged in the end - a heartbreaking 136-133 double-overtime loss to Memphis on Monday and a 100-97 setback to Miami on Wednesday. Sura had a hand in all three comebacks. "He's had a hamstring that's been bothering him for a week and a half and he just plays through it," Atlanta coach Terry Stotts said. "It's almost like he's playing better with the injury. Even in the last games against Memphis and Miami, when we got down 15 or 17 points, he was the guy that really got us going and he did it again tonight." Howard had a season-high 33 points and 11 rebounds and DeShawn Stevenson scored 18 points but could not help the Magic avoid their sixth straight home loss.
