Game StoryINDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Fred Jones put on another display, but this one had nothing to do with dunking. Jones keyed a third-quarter run with three 3-pointers as the Indiana Pacers continued to show their depth in a 100-90 victory over the Chicago Bulls. The defending Slam Dunk champion, Jones became a force from beyond the arc in the third quarter when the more-experienced Pacers took control of the game from the youngster-laden Bulls. Jones' trio of 3-pointers came in a 14-6 surge over the final 2:50 of the quarter, turning a close game into an 82-67 bulge heading into the final period. "Any time I can knock down shots and help give my team a spark, it feels good," Jones said. "Guys got me the ball in good situations. I felt it for a minute, and once I felt it, I didn't want to give it up." Also a spark in Friday's victory at Boston, Jones made 5-of-9 shots and scored 14 points. The third-year reserve guard went 4-of-7 overall from 3-point range, helping the Pacers go 11-of-23 from the arc. Stephen Jackson also had his best game of the season with 18 of his 24 points in the first half for the Pacers, who improved to 3-0 for the first time since 1995-96. "It was a fun game tonight," said Jackson, who had totaled just 18 points in his first two games. "We played a good young team who is hungry." Jackson was playing in his first home game for the Pacers after being acquired in an offseason deal that sent Al Harrington to Atlanta. Jackson signed a six-year, $41 million deal. "I love it (Indianapolis)," said Jackson, who made 8-of-13 shots and added four steals. "The team and the fans have embraced me and I'm going to keep working hard to help this team win." Jermaine O'Neal had 15 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes off the bench and Jamaal Tinsley collected 12 assists for Indiana, which has been able to get it done despite being shorthanded. Indiana regulars Reggie Miller, Jonathan Bender, Jeff Foster and Anthony Johnson all are sidelined with injuries. Scot Pollard, who started the first two games at center, also missed the contest with a back strain. Luol Deng, the seventh overall pick in June's draft, scored 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting for Chicago (0-2), which was coming off Friday's double-overtime loss to New Jersey. "We are still trying to get better and better," Deng said. "That was a good team that we played out there and we hung with them for almost three quarters; but when Fred Jones got hot and hit all those 3-pointers, they were able to pull away from us." Fellow rookie Ben Gordon added 17 points for Chicago, which fell to 0-11 all-time at Conseco Fieldhouse. "Overall, we played pretty well, especially after last night," Chicago coach Scott Skiles said. "When you play a team that's that good and you find yourself down five to seven points the whole game, eventually, they are going to pull away." Ron Artest chipped in 14 points for Indiana, which shot 51.5 percent (34-of-66) and won despite committing 26 turnovers. The Bulls shot 45 percent (35-of-78) and committed 23 turnovers. Bulls rookie Andres Nocioni, who was part of Argentina's gold medal team in Athens, left in the fourth quarter with a back injury.
