Game Story

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Chris Webber is starting to look like his old unstoppable self. Webber scored nine of his 31 points in the final 5 1/2 minutes as the Sacramento Kings rallied for their fourth straight win, a 107-105 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. Mike Bibby scored 18 points and Peja Stojakovic added 17 for the Kings, who blew a double-digit third-quarter lead, then came back from a nine-point deficit in the final period. Playing with a chronically sore knee, Webber made 14-of-24 shots. The perennial All-Star added 12 rebounds and seven assists. "It just feels good to be healthy," Webber said. "Hopefully the healthier I get, the more I'll be able to play." Webber scored seven points in a 12-1 decisive surge. He had a pair of dunks around a free throw to pull the Kings within 97-96 with 4:44 left and Doug Christie sank a transition jumper that gave Sacramento the lead for good 28 seconds later. "I had guys on the bench - Courtney (Alexander), Doug, Mike - getting in my ear, just telling me to take control," Webber said. "It felt really good." Memphis' Pau Gasol made a free throw, but Webber sank a jumper and Stojakovic drilled a 3-pointer - his first basket of the second half - for a 103-98 lead with 2:37 to play. Jason Williams answered with a 3-pointer and Memphis had a chance to tie, but Shane Battier missed two free throws with 1:59 remaining. Bibby made a free throw and Williams made two before Webber sank a step-back jumper for a 106-103 lead with 16 seconds to go. "He did a lot of things tonight and that's what we keep talking about," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "You can't look at one game, two games. You have to look at progression. He made some moves off the dribble, rolling across the key for a hook shot, crossing over, taking it to the basket." Christie had 16 points and nine assists for the Kings, who improved to 4-0 at home. Stromile Swift scored 23 points and Gasol added 17 and 18 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who stormed back from a 16-point second-quarter deficit by scoring 60 points in the middle two periods. "We knew that if we just kept on playing, they would let us back in the game," Grizzlies center Lorenzen Wright said. "We just had to keep fighting and playing hard. They started missing shots that they were making earlier."
