Game StoryCHICAGO (Ticker) -- For once, the Chicago Bulls were the bullies. Rookie Ben Gordon scored 21 points to lead a balanced attack as the Bulls never trailed in a surprising 113-85 rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Off to another embarrassing start, the Bulls had lost 13 of their first 15 games with eight of the defeats coming by double digits. But behind Gordon, the third pick in June's draft, the Bulls matched their most lopsided victory since a 103-75 rout of Houston on December 4, 2001. Chicago led by as many as 34 points in the fourth quarter. "Start to finish, I thought that was our best game," Bulls coach Scott Skiles said. "I thought our defense was very, very good." Gordon went 8-of-12 from the field in 31 minutes. He played just four minutes and missed his only two shots in Monday's 91-75 loss to San Antonio. "This was a lot of fun," said Gordon, who fell one point shy of matching his season high. "Everyone was out there just playing together. We were out there not thinking too much, just covering each other's backs." "Ben shot the ball well tonight," Skiles said. "When Ben gets down and is aggressive, he can score. There's no doubt about it." Eddy Curry added 20 points and nine rebounds and Tyson Chandler 15 and nine for Chicago, which took control with a 15-6 run in the third quarter that opened a 71-52 lead. Rookie Andres Nocioni and Kirk Hinrich also netted 15 points apiece for the Bulls, who shot 53 percent (37-of-70) and held a 46-33 rebounding advantage. LeBron James struggled to 19 points on 5-of-15 shooting for the Cavaliers (12-7), who came into the contest with the Eastern Conference's best record but played their worst game of the season. "It was just one of those nights," James said. "They're an NBA team. We don't downplay anybody. We respect everyone." "I knew right away we weren't in sync tonight," Cavaliers coach Paul Silas said. "I felt it. I knew it." Gordon scored the first five points to trigger a 17-6 surge as the Bulls opened a 44-27 lead. They settled for a 54-44 advantage at the break before breaking things open in the third quarter. Rookie Chris Duhon made a pair of 3-pointers in the quarter and fed former Duke teammate Luol Deng for an alley-oop dunk, pushing the advantage to 71-52 with 4:33 left in the quarter. Chandler scored nine points in the quarter as the lead grew to 20 entering the final period. "I felt like when we got out there we played as a team the whole night," Chandler said. "When we get that and the communication on defense and offense, we will win a lot of ballgames. That's what it takes." Deng also had a hand in slowing down James, who scored 26 points in a 96-74 victory over the Bulls on November 27. "He's tought to guard especially when he's coming off picks," said the 6-8 Deng, who has a long wingspan. "You're coming full speed at him. He's quick and his reaction is quick when he attacks you. That's the toughest part of guarding him."
