Game StoryMEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Cleveland's LeBron James torched the Memphis Grizzlies for most of the game and Jeff McInnis finished them off. James scored 27 of his 31 points in the first three quarters and McInnis scored eight of his 18 in the fourth quarter as the Cavaliers closed out a three-game road trip with a 92-86 triumph over the Grizzlies. "Seven steals, eight assists and 31 points," Cavaliers coach Paul Silas said of James' performance. "He's going to be pretty good someday." In the first half, James had 19 points on 9-of-11 shoooting and six steals to help Cleveland stay within 51-47. The reigning NBA Rookie of the year added eight more points in the third, which ended with Memphis ahead, 73-72, before McInnis took over in the final period. "I can get off to a slow start at home, but on the road I've got to really start attacking," James said. "I can't wait on the road. That's what I'd been doing the last two games, and it didn't work out. ... Tonight I came out aggressive and kept us in the game and we were able to pull it out in the second half." "LeBron was terrific in the first half," Memphis coach Mike Fratello said. "We had a hard time containing him, and as a result it caused some chaos and turnovers for us." After Lorenzen Wright's follow shot gave Memphis an 81-79 edge with 6:03 to go, the Cavaliers answered with an 11-2 run. Zydrunas Ilgauskas hit a basket to tie the game with 3:31 remaining and McInnis added a jumper just under one minute later to put Cleveland ahead for good, 83-81. "I've got confidence to shoot it," said McInnis, who'd gone 3-of-10 from the field over the first three quarters. "I was in LeBron's ear the whole time, saying, 'Earl Watson is leaving me, doubling on you.' I know I was missing before, but I promised him I'd hit one." Wright hit another jumper with 99 seconds left to reduce the Cavaliers' lead to 85-83, but McInnis responded with his third 3-pointer of the game with 1:01 remaining. "It's been smooth sailing ever since McInnis got here (from Portland last season)," James said. "It hurt our playoff chances when he got hurt last year. Who knows if we could've made the playoffs last year if he didn't get injured. ... So I love him being around." Sixteen seconds later, James picked off Wright's pass and raced to other end of the floor, putting an exclamation point on the win with a two-handed jam. James' thunderous dunk put him over the 30-point threshold for the fifth time this season and the first time in December. Drew Gooden, who played for Memphis during his rookie campaign two seasons ago, collected 11 points, eight rebounds and a career-high seven assists for the Cavaliers. Ilgauskas added 11 points and nine rebounds for Cleveland, which held a 40-31 advantage on the glass. Pau Gasol scored 19 points for the Grizzlies but managed just one point in the fourth quarter and was an uncharacteristic 3-of-9 from the line. Wright, who had 10 rebounds, and Mike Miller each scored 16 points for Memphis, which had just three baskets in the final seven minutes and managed just 13 points in the fourth quarter.
