Game StorySAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics were hoping to end a long slide against the San Antonio Spurs, but Tony Parker ended those aspirations. Parker scored 27 points while dishing out six assists as the Spurs posted their 15th consecutive victory over the Celtics with a 107-90 triumph. Boston has not beaten the Spurs since January 8, 1997 and has not won in San Antonio since February 14, 1990, a span of 14 games. "We've just been good on those certain days we've played the Celtics," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "We've been fortunate to win." "The Celtics are a good ball club and I have the utmost respect for coach Rivers and that team," San Antonio forward Bruce Bowen said. "We simply have gotten hot at the right times to prevail in our matchups over the last several years." The Celtics rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second quarter to take their only lead, 57-56, with 7:22 left in the third quarter, But Parker scored four points as the Spurs retaliated with an 11-0 run. "(Popovich) was disappointed (after giving up the lead) but after the timeout, we played better offensively and defensively," Parker said. "We made a run then we went flat again," Celtics guard Gary Payton said. "We got back in the game and then the other unit came in and they made a run." Boston coach Doc Rivers was more blunt about his team's performance. "Our pick and roll defense is atrocious," he said. "We worked on it this morning and it was almost like we didn't. Our defense is what has been letting us down." Reserve guard Devin Brown added a pair of 3-pointers, including a buzzer-beater from just inside mid-court, as San Antonio outscored Boston 25-9 in the final seven minutes of the third to take an 81-66 lead into the final period. Brown finished with 17 points. "Devin was outstanding tonight, especially offensively," Popovich said. "When we needed a spark this evening, Devin came through. Hopefully this will continue as I expect it will." Tim Duncan added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who have won six out of their last seven games. Ricky Davis scored 21 points off the bench on 8-of-11 shooting and Paul Pierce added 16 for the Celtics, who had won three of their last four. "We covered Paul Pierce well when we needed to," Parker said. "It was a good defensive effort on Paul Pierce and Gary Payton tonight." "We still have a long way to go," Pierce said. "We're still inconsistent in spurts, but we're playng hard and we're giving ourselves a chance."
