Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Michael Redd and Desmond Mason gave Tracy McGrady a taste of his own medicine. Redd scored 28 points and Mason added 24 despite sitting for most of the fourth quarter as the Milwaukee Bucks routed the Houston Rockets, 115-87. Entering the game, McGrady had averaged 34.8 points in the last five seasons against Milwaukee - the highest of any player over that stretch. But early on, it was clear that the two-time NBA scoring champ would be overshadowed in this one. Redd and Mason alone nearly outscored the Rockets in the opening quarter, combining for 23 points to help the Bucks take a 37-25 lead into the second. Mason made 7-of-9 shots in the period and scored six in a 14-4 run that made it 35-21 with 1:29 left. The Rockets cut the deficit to 37-27 on a layup by Maurice Taylor with just under 10 1/2 minutes left in the half, but Houston made just one basket in the next nine minutes as Milwaukee went on a 20-5 spurt to all but assure the Bucks just their second winning streak of the season. "It feels good to come out and get a convincing win," Mason said. "That's what I've been saying all year - if we can get a convincing win, it can get us turned around a little bit. "This is the first step to try to get on a winning streak. We've got two now. Now we have to get greedy." Reserve Marcus Fizer added five of his season-high 15 points during the burst for the Bucks, who set a season-high for points and handed the Rockets their worst loss of the season. "We came out with a lot of energy," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. "I thought our starters did a great job of setting the tone for the game. Guys came off the bench and continued that level of play." "I have to give Milwaukee credit," Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "They played very well. The whole game was disappointing from our standpoint." Fizer also was one of four Bucks that frustrated Yao Ming. The All-Star center had just 10 points and three rebounds in 22 minutes. "Coach told us to come out and try to do the best job we could on the superstar, Yao Ming," Fizer said. "He's a huge load to deal with. Once Joe (Smith) and Danny (Gadzuric) came out, me and Zaza (Pachulia) went in and tried to keep the energy that they had and roll with it." Redd erased any hopes of a comeback with 15 points in the third quarter, helping give Milwaukee its biggest lead, 90-59, entering the fourth. "I can't just sit back and let the double- and triple-teams take me out of my game," Redd said. "I have to be aggressive, not passive, right from the onset." In addition to their offensive outburst, Redd and Mason took turns matching up with McGrady, holding him to 20 points on 7-of-19 shooting. "Our teammates did the job of closing down the lane, trying to keep him out of the paint for the most part and making him shoot jump shots," Mason said. "He had some open looks and he missed them, but I think most of his shots were contested." Bob Sura had 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Rockets (13-15), who failed to reach the .500 mark for the first time this season. "We keep putting ourselves in these situations," McGrady said. "We did a great job of trying to get over .500, trying to get to .500. It seems like we can't get over that hump. I don't know what it is going to take."
