Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony and Marcus Camby helped make George Karl's return to coaching a happy one. Anthony led six players in double figures with 25 points and Camby made a key follow shot as the Denver Nuggets made a winner of Karl in his debut with the squad, rallying for a 106-100 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Karl was fired by the Bucks in 2003 but received an ovation before the game. "I didn't think that it went either way," Karl said of his reception. "There were some boos. There was some happiness. I know what the streets of Milwaukee say about me - they like me a lot. I walk around the city and feel very well-known. There are actually some people in the city that still think I am the coach of the Milwaukee Bucks." His debut with the Nuggets appeared to be a sour one, however, as his new team trailed by as many as 14 points late in the third quarter and 80-68 entering the fourth. But the Nuggets opened the final period on a 24-4 run, building a 92-84 lead on a jumper by Anthony with 4:17 remaining. "To come back and win a game being down as many as we were early in the fourth shows a lot of courage, a lot of pride," Karl said. "We weren't a real good defensive team, but we were a good defensive team in the fourth quarter. "We kind of knew what they were doing against us and we didn't get it figured out. Then in the fourth quarter we kind of figured it a little, and that is when we got the momentum and the lead." Denver's lead dwindled to 103-100 before Anthony was fouled with 21 seconds left. He made the first free throw, then missed the second, but Camby - who had 14 points and nine rebounds - swooped in to tip it in, capping the scoring. "Guys made big plays down the stretch on the offensive end," Camby said. "When we needed to get stops on the defensive end, guys also stepped up and made plays." Earl Boykins collected 17 points and eight assists and fellow reserve Nene added 13 and 12 rebounds for the Nuggets, who outscored the Bucks, 38-20, in the fourth quarter. "Obviously, the fourth quarter was our downfall," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. "Us not making shots at the basket, we had quite a few of them at the basket. They got a lot of offensive rebounds that got them back into the game. Then they started to make some shots, getting some confidence off of it." Michael Redd scored 26 points to lead five players in double figures for the Bucks, who received just 12 points from their bench. Denver's reserves scored 37 points. "You have to have a killer instinct," Porter said. "We didn't have that. We haven't had that all year for the most part. We have to get it."
