Game StoryINDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) -- Jeff Foster did a great job on the backboards. He has to work on his free throws, though. Foster grabbed 17 rebounds, including 11 on the offensive end, as the Indiana Pacers survived his poor foul shooting down the stretch and held on for a 76-73 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies. A 6-11 center not known for his offense, Foster came up one rebound shy of his season and career highs in total and offensive rebounds. Down the stretch, he gave the Pacers valuable extra possessions and limited the surging Grizzlies to one shot. "When both teams are shooting bad, that means more work for the guys underneath," Foster said. "In a game like that, the team that has the most rebounds usually comes out on top. I was in the right places at the right times tonight." The Pacers hot just 36.5 percent (27-of-74) from the field but held the Grizzlies under 35 percent (26-of-75) and owned a 49-43 advantage on the boards. Indiana saw a 14-point lead early in the fourth quarter whittled to 70-67 before Anthony Johnson sank a 3-pointer with five minutes to play - the last basket for the Pacers. Fred Jones and Lorenzen Wright traded a pair of free throws before Foster asserted himself. He rebounded a miss by teammate Jermaine O'Neal and drew a foul, although he missed both free throws, which made it look like the same old struggles for Indiana. "We try not to let it (missed free throws) get to us," said Foster, a 64 percent foul shooter. "Teams go through periods of missing shots, and we're in one of those right now. We'll take any win we can get at this point." Foster grabbed a miss by Wright, then hauled in another miss by O'Neal, allowing the Pacers to hold the ball for 45 seconds. Earl Watson made a spinning drive to cut the deficit to 75-71 with 1:37 remaining, but Foster swept a miss by Johnson and again was fouled. He missed the first but sank the second for a 76-71 advantage with 1:20 to go. Foster rebounded Mike Miller's miss at the other end, but O'Neal missed a short jumper. Two free throws by Wright made it 76-73 with 25 seconds to play. Jones missed a driving layup, but O'Neal blocked a drive by Miller, who also missed a potential tying 3-pointer before the horn. "I had a good look and that's what we are looking for in that situation," said Miller, who scored eight points on 3-of-9 shooting. "Our plan was to take the three if we had it, and if not, to try to take it to the basket and get a foul. That's what I did and it just came up short." "What a great win, because it's been tough lately," Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. "We've got some guys that are really banged up. Jermaine and Jeff almost didn't play tonight. Jeff's been struggling with a hip pointer and I thought his response tonight was great." Stephen Jackson scored 19 points and Jones added 15 for the Pacers, who swept the season series as they won for the fourth time in six games. O'Neal was limited to 11 points on 4-of-15 shooting. "We have to keep channeling our emotions and anger in the right direction," added Jackson, who led the Pacers in scoring for the fourth time in the last eight games. "I feel my legs coming back." Jackson and O'Neal also had eight rebounds each. "You can give Jeff credit for that," Jackson said. "With him taking up two people under there tonight, that's the easiest eight rebounds I've ever had." Wright had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Watson scored 16 points for the Grizzlies, who had a three-game winning streak snapped.
