Game StoryTORONTO (Ticker) -- Elton Brand and the road-weary Los Angeles Clippers rallied from a 20-point deficit but did not have enough to overcome Chris Bosh, Rafer Alston and the Toronto Raptors. Bosh had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Alston scored 10 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter as the Raptors held on for a 109-106 victory over the Clippers. Toronto halted a four-game slide with just its third win in 10 games. "We needed it real bad," Bosh said. "You have to give the Clippers credit, they came back in the second half and made a game of it. We took advantage of being at home." After winning the openerof its season-high nine-game trip, Los Angeles had lost four straight entering the game and it showed in the first half. The Clippers trailed, 35-30, early in the second quarter before Bosh led the Raptors on a 19-4 burst over the next four-plus minutes. He scored six points during the spree, including a jumper at the 9:16 mark to start it. Lamond Murray's free throw extended the lead to 54-34 with 4:54 remaining. "Well, obviously I am disappointed in the way we came out of the game," Clippers coach Mike Dunleavy said. "Bosh is a terrific player. He's very active, plays hard all the time and is getting more skilled." Bosh scored 16 points in the first half, when Toronto shot 52 percent (22-of-42) from the floor and built a 63-49 lead. But the Raptors missed their first 15 shots of the second half and the Clippers took advantage, opening the half with a game-tying 14-0 burst. "I thought in the third quarter we came out flat," Raptors coach Sam Mitchell said. "I thought Elton Brand just took over the game. He just took the air right out of the game. He's a load." Brand scored 11 straight points and Chris Kaman tied it, 63-63, with a follow shot at the 8:40 mark. Los Angeles outscored Toronto, 30-12, in the third quarter to take a 79-75 lead into the final period. "It's very disappointing," said Brand, who had 26 points and 11 rebounds for his 20th double-double. "We came out and had a very lethargic start. You can't get behind 20 in this league, but we fought back well. It takes a lot of energy to come back. You've got to give them credit - they didn't flop once they gave up the lead." Alston pulled the Raptors even, 85-85, with a 3-pointer with 8:34 to go. He snapped a 90-90 tie with another shot from the arc with 4:23 left, and Toronto took control, outscoring Los Angeles 10-4 over the next two minutes. "Rafer made a couple of big shots for them in transition and kept them under control," Dunleavy said. "We just continue to play hard night in and night out," Alston said. "A win salvages everything." Bosh added a three-point play on the ensuing possession and Morris Peterson's one-hand jam extend the the lead to 100-94 with 2:13 to go. Donyell Marshall made five 3-pointers and scored 17 points and Milt Palacio scored seven of his 13 points in the fourth quarter for Toronto, which made its decisive run with Jalen Rose on the bench. "We always have to put a little excitement into it," Palacio said. "Go up, get down, come back, that's what we did but we played hard and we all stuck together." Bobby Simmons scored 21 points on 10-of-15 shooting and Corey Maggette added 17 points off the bench for the Clippers, who dominated the Raptors in the paint, outscoring them 52-28. Rookie Shaun Livingston, playing in his first game since coming off the injured list, totaled 10 points and a season-high nine assists for Los Angeles.
