Game StoryMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Ray Allen did not have a happy return to the place he used to call home. Allen made just 4-of-16 shots while Michael Redd scored 35 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 99-73 rout of the Seattle SuperSonics. Redd had struggled in his two previous games, shooting a combined 10-for-33 from the field and scoring only 25 points. In this one, he drained 14-of-25 shots to help the Bucks improve to 6-1 in their last seven home games. "We got the win," Redd said. "That was the major thing. We've been playing well coming into the game today. This was one of the best teams in the league. We did a great job." Seattle came out flat, missing its first 10 shots and was never in the game, shooting 29 percent (25-of-85). Milwaukee took advantage of Seattle's early shooting woes, racing to a 13-0 lead and never letting the Sonics within nine the rest of the way. "You've got to come ready to play," Seattle coach Nate McMillan said. "It looked like we thought this was going to be a cakewalk. We were just out there not doing anything for each other. We were on our heels the entire night." "We came out aggressive in the first five minutes of the game," Redd said. "They didn't score a point for a while and that was the game." Former Sonic Desmond Mason scored 13 points in the first quarter as Milwaukee raced to a 31-10 lead while Allen made just 1-of-8 shots. "There's not any sort of grudge there anymore," Mason said on playing his former team. "It's always fun to play against some old buddies." Allen finished with 16 points in his first game at the Bradley Center since being traded along with Ronald Murray for Gary Payton and Mason in February 2003. "It was pretty weird," said Allen, who spent the first six years of his career as a Buck before being traded to Seattle. "I still felt like it was a home game for me, so to speak. It was good to be back in the building in front of all these people who supported, who still support me now that I'm in Seattle. "I've had a great time in Seattle, but nothing will replace my six years in Milwaukee." Allen received a standing ovation during pre-game introductions, but that was about the only highlight in his return. Adding insult to injury, recently-acquired guard Reece Gaines was given Allen's former No. 34 and made his Bucks debut in front of the former Milwaukee star. "It was a little salty," Allen said of Gaines wearing his old uniform. "It don't look the same on him." Joe Smith scored 16 for Milwaukee, which ended a three-game losing skid to Seattle. Seattle finished with a season-low 73 points. "For us, it was a good team from the West," Milwaukee coach Terry Porter said. "We haven't fared well against West Coast teams. It's great to get out on our floor and play extremely well."
