Game StoryDENVER (Ticker) -- Andre Miller and Kenyon Martin sparked the Denver Nuggets to another big victory under coach George Karl. Miller scored 22 points and handed out eight assists and Martin added 19 and three blocks as the Nuggets posted a 114-103 victory over Karl's old team, the Milwaukee Bucks. "Guys are running more and that helps us play a lot better," Miller said. "We are finding guys at the right time and the right way. The Bucks are a team that is going to fight the whole game. It is nice to get this win tonight and move on to the next one." Denver (35-30) improved to 18-5 under Karl and 11-1 since the All-Star break. "It was a good enough effort to win," Karl said. "I would like to see us be a lot more consistent on defense, though. The defense got really relaxed, but it was a full team effort. We will have to be better if we want to do anything in the playoffs." The Nuggets began the Karl era with a 106-100 win over the Bucks on January 28. They swept the season series and maintained a 2 1/2-game lead over Minnesota for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. "We're in control right now," Nuggets forward Carmelo Anthony said. "The Lakers game is going to be a dogfight later this week. But we think we can beat anyone we step onto the court with right now. If we keep winning we could move up a spot or two in the playoff race." Eduardo Najera scored 12 points and Earl Boykins added 10 off the bench for Denver, which held a 62-53 lead at the break and never was threatened in the second half. Milwaukee (27-38) came in four games out of the final playoff spot in the East and opened a five-game road swing with its fifth straight road loss. "We just had too many breakdowns tonight," Bucks coach Terry Porter said. "We talk about this team becoming more of a running team, but the Nuggets had 28 points on the fast break. We haven't beaten anyone all year when giving up that many fast-break points." Desmond Mason scored 24 points and Michael Redd added 23 on just 8-of-25 from the field for the Bucks, who shot only 44 percent (37-of-85) and allowed the Nuggets to connect on 56 percent(41-of-73). "It was a tough shooting night and we gave up a lot of transition points," Redd said. "We fought really hard to try and come back in the forth quarter, we got within six and then they had an explosion, and that was the game." The Nuggets improved to 13-1 at home on the season vs. the Eastern Conference, while Milwaukee fell to 0-11 on the road vs. the West.
