Game StoryBOSTON (Ticker) -- After laying low for three quarters, the Chicago Bulls stood tall in the final period. Eddy Curry scored 16 points and Tyson Chandler added 13 and 10 rebounds off the bench as the Bulls rallied for their fourth straight win, a 94-86 triumph over the Boston Celtics. Trailing for the majority of the game, the Bulls turned it on in the fourth quarter, beginning the period with an 11-2 run that opened a 77-74 lead with 7:45 remaining. Rookie Luol Deng scored five points during the burst. Boston stayed close and tied the game at 84-84 on a layup by Antoine Walker with 3:04 to go, but a 3-pointer by rookie Ben Gordon 52 seconds later established an advantage Chicago did not surrender. "I just had to really concentrate," Gordon said. "What happened was, Ricky Davis got a piece of the ball, I had to juggle it, I got my feet set and knocked the shot down." Chandler scored seven points and Curry added six in the final period for the Bulls, who held the Celtics to 5-of-26 shooting in the quarter. "Guys did a good job of looking for me down the stretch and guys stepped up and played great defense, and we got the win," Curry said. "We felt like we needed this win for our confidence. We buckled down at the end in the fourth quarter and played some solid defense." The loss, coupled with Philadelphia's win over Toronto, reduced Boston's lead over the 76ers in the Atlantic Division to 3 1/2 games. Chicago moved one-half game ahead of idle Cleveland for fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The teams conceivably could meet in the first round of the playoffs. "Right now, if the playoffs started today, we would be playing them, so we wanted to send the message that we are capable of playing with them," Deng said. Gordon scored 12 points, Othella Harrington added 10 and Antonio Davis 10 and nine boards for the Bulls, who were without point guard Kirk Hinrich for the second straight game due to a strained left hamstring. "To (win) two games without Kirk, who's the engine that makes our team go, is very impressive," Chicago coach Scott Skiles said. "We came out in the first half and things weren't going our way, but then we got some life. We went down the bench, changed the lineup a little bit and got some life." Walker had 18 points and 12 rebounds and Paul Pierce chipped in 18 and nine for Boston, which has lost two straight after a seven-game winning streak. "I think every loss at this point in the season is a little disappointing, especially when we're playing so well," Pierce said. "To have a letdown like we have these last two games, good thing we play tomorrow (at Detroit) and can get this out of our heads if we can win."
